Lydia, Oh Lydia! Say, have you met Lydia?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 12:16 am

I lost her somewhere while pursuing Mercer Frey. Just how long before she makes her way back to our home in Whiterun? Is that where she'll show up? How do I confirm if she's gone forever?

I wouldn't mind except that she's wearing all my hand-me-down armor. Luckily I sold all the dragon bones and scales she was carrying for me.

Well, if she is truly gone ... let's talk about who I should get next. I have the almost-fully super-enhanced Draedic armor and weapons, so I don't need much damage help from companions. It would be great to have a healer type so I don't have to self-heal or pot, and/or if I can't get that, then I think I'd prefer a fellow warrior melee type. Lydia, as an archer, seems always to be somewhere else.

BTW ... the topic line is from the Marx Brothers

There's a mage guy you get for doing the Waking Nightmare quest in Dawnstar. I you're looking for someone with a hint of personality, he could be good, or Mjoll the Lioness in Riften.

I use both Lydia and Brylia the Dark Elf at the mage College that I married. Both are good. If you lost Lydia you may need to fast travel home. If that does not work then you may need to load a previous save... I have had to reload a few times for lydia. Not My Little dark elf tho. Something about how she lays down suppressive fire.

If you wait for a few days if Lydia is out there somewhere you'll get a message saying she's got bored and going home, or you can try and hire another follower and see if you can, if you can then Lydia is no more! There are mercenaries about the place you can try and hire

If you are on a PC, use the player.moveto command to get to her location.

I don't remember her code - just google "console code lydia skyrim".

OMG ... I transported her to me ... now she lies dead at my feet and naked outside our former home together in Whiterun. I guess the shock of seeing me with my new love, Farkas, was too much for her!

"Teleporting" using the console code to bring an NPC to you only creates a new instance of that character, which will often cause bugs. Its best to move to her location using "moveto " her REFID is 000A2C94.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console

moveto move Player to specified actor Example: player.moveto 0002BFA2. Using this code will instantly teleport you to Hadvar position. You must use RefID or "player".
Another example: select an object and type moveto player which will move the selected object to your feet and orient it based on the camera's angle.

risks of placeatme "Example: player.placeatme 000fea9b. Using this code will instantly summon an instance of an object or npc at your position. The example, in particular, summons a dragon. Not recommended for named NPCs. This code uses the Object (base) ID and not specific reference ID as it is creating a new instance of that object/actor in the world; using it with named NPCs can result in duplicates unless the original was somehow removed. For named NPCs, it's suggested you make use of the following commands: prid RefID & moveto player."

Your thread title is a Groucho Marx song. I love you. I have a caricature of Groucho I did hanging in my house.
