Ok, is Marrying Lydia bugged or what?
I also hear of a rumor that during the main quest line she asks you to help her. After that then you can marry her.
I see that on PC they have a way to get around the bug but how can you do it on Xbox? I knew I should have got it for PC.. lol

It's bugged. The reason her name is listed on so many websites as marriable prospect is simply because it's in the Prima game guides.
The rumor you mentioned is false. And the only way for non PC players to marry her is wait for the patch.

According to UESPWiki, you need to be wearing an Amulet of Mara before you can ask anyone to marry you, otherwise the option won't appear in the text dialogue. Do you have one?

She is set up as if it was intended for her to be marriable, however, she was never added to the correct faction for that. Yes, it's a faction. The prima guide has her listed as marriable, and Bethesda seems to have intended her to be.

My guess is she will be patched. The only solution right now is to use the console to add her to the correct faction.

She is supposed to do things in her bedroom. However, when you bought the "decorations" for your house, that bed got marked as owned by someone else. For whatever reason, she doesn't recognize her room as "hers" and so the only thing she ends up doing is sitting around and eating.

This will probably be patched in. It's funny, but the coming patch will probably "fix" Lydia sitting around and eating before it will fix some more serious balancing and stability issues.

Last I saw of her, she was mashing the skulls of about a dozen Falmer while I was mauling two dozen on the other end of the room. Just bring her along, she'll burn off the calories.
