Well I have had Lydia as a follower for a long time so going back to a previous save isn't feasible.

was she in the middle of talking? sometimes they'll follow you outside to finish their little speech. Also can you disable her if you really want her gone, don't know if that will mess up you're new followers though.

Actually my lydia is bugged, when i dismiss her she strips down to her underoos and chills in breezehome right by the bed...guess its her way of trying to get me to be a follower again
