Lydia wont move!

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 2:11 pm

I left her in Riften at the market place standing alongside other npcs listening to Beyinol or whatever is his name and now when I go back to get her she agrees to follow me but wont move. I can get her to trade items and I can get her to carry out an instruction like move over there with the command system but as soon as I stop the command she returns to the exact same spot as before. Has any one had this anomoly?

I told her to part ways with me and she agrees but stays rooted to the spot!?!? What gives?

I had a similar problem with my follower Eola. With one difference though: she didn't move AND no communication possible. She wasn't dead though, still standing in aggressive stance.

What did help was killing her myself. Then resurrected her using the console. Problem solved.

Has run into it once before, will she follow you if you fast travel? that reset the stand for me. She was just standing at an load door in a dungeon, and did not follow me out but fast travel send her next to you and she worked afterward.

Trie the above but she doesn't follow. I guess it's broken because I cat get into the thieves guild either I think the Beyinol character is also broken because he just stands there talking with everybody around him and never turtns up at the ragged flaggen to meet me, oh well.

Thanks for the input guys.

Have you tried a FUSH RO DAH on her? Maybe she just need to hit the ground for a moment.

on PC?

maybe it helps, if you try to level her up to your level:

- dismiss Lydia
- open console (~) while she's still in front of you
- click Lydia
- type "disable", then "enable" (without the ")
- close console
- ask her to rejoin again

Better yet:

1. Open console
2. Click on Lydia
3. Type "ResetAI"
4. Close console
5. Let her honor her thane once more.

or

1. Open console
2. Click on Lydia
3. Type "EVP"
4. Close console
5. Give her a burden to carry.

If this doesn't work, then use the "Disable" / "Enable" workaround that was suggested by Paajtor above.

One other thing you can try if you can access follower commands for her is to tell her to wait and then go into another cell and wait for 3 days strait. In theory this should trigger the "follower is tired of waiting and has returned home" script and she should make her way back to Whiterun.
