[Super WIP] Lyithdonea: The Azurian Isles

Post » Sun May 16, 2010 3:01 am

I needed a break from landscaping. So I have been working on Nur Dunroeth's daedric minions. They are the outcasts of Oblivion, outfitted for destruction and terror. And yes that IS a Storm Atronach base, sorry for any disappointment...

The Epinachs Chthonachs

I had a lot of fun making these, so I hope you all like them! Although they are sort of the same class as the Atronachs, I took some artistic liberty with their names, since I have heard Cosminachs and Poetronachs both mentioned before... so I don't see why there can't be Epinachs Chthonachs!

Later

FYI, I have come to a final decision on the name. They will be known as the Chthonachs (thoh-nok-s). G'night everyone

p.s. I'm still working on the trees, it may be a little while 'til I have things the way I like them. But I'll post as soon as I do

I whole-heartedly approve of the new name. I remember learning the word chthonian during my senior year of high school and believing that it was quite possibly the coolest sounding word ever, particularly if an apostrophe is randomly inserted to make it ch'thonian. I think my class' senior play even managed to have a Princess Ch'Thonia in it.

I agree, I thought the word fit well with them as well as sounding very cool! After all it appears that Atro in Atronach most likely comes from Atro-cious...

Alright, I have been playing around with a new tree mesh as well as the awesome palm zackg sent me (I made a short version as well as using his existing tall version). I wanted to show you guys the results here, to see what you thought.

Look at the new palms!

Secondly I have been working on some new trees for the small Jermora area, which is a highlands island with a large shallow lake on top of it. The lake tumbles down in the Cataracts at Jermora. But here's a sneak peek.

I think I know what is causing the gray on the trees. I'll test it out though.

Updated the OP to include all the pictures spread throughout this thread. I've mainly been working on the questline for the mod, so not to many visual updates ATM.

Looks amazing, especially the 1st pic. However, now the other tree looks crappy in comparison. :P

I have been adding small bits and pieces here and there. However, I've been missing Morrowind, plain Morrowind, so I started a new character and started playing through again. I call it gathering ideas to add to the mod :)...other things have http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr256/ericthered1090/5TheWeaponofChoice.jpg...

But don't worry, this is NOT going to die. I'll try and have an interesting update ready sometime in the near future. I appreciate the interest, it's encouraging

This looks amazing! I'm really fond of tropical places, especially when they contrast mainlands and whatnot, and you hit the nail. I'm eagerly awaiting this mod, if anything to relax around the beaches!

Kinda unrelated, but what is that purple-ish armor with the Ordinator mask in that title shot?

I'm glad you like the way it's looking so far. I'm trying to make something different for Morrowind :D I'll make sure there are plenty of scenic beaches on the islands!

Nope, that's not unrelated at all. I like talking about the background of the mod

The armor is worn by the Refulgent Erudites, who are (kind-of) the equivalent of the Indoril Ordinators in the Azurian Isles. Only they are slightly stranger (especially to talk to!). The armor is crafted from the scaly hide of the Illuvitar, an evil daedra created by Azura in some dark corners of Lyithdonea. The Refulgent Erudites mainly function as guards for the Azuran Presbytery.

Hope that answers you question!

An announcement: I am currently on my school semester so updates will most likely be infrequent. Don't let that discourage you from leaving a comment :D
This mod is not dead, no worries :)

Just a small BUMP to say that an update should be following soon. I have begun work on the High Presbytery Complex in the Capitol City. The combination of architecture should be fairly unique I hope...

Anyhow stay tuned and feel free to leave comments/praise/criticism/etc.

Alright, for some reason my ingame screenshots aren't working. Maybe someone knows what's up. I am using MGE which I believe my version must automatically enable screenshots, because the option to enable screenshots is not available for checking. However, I also set the enablescreenshot function in the Morrowind file to 1. But when I try to take a screenshot, it just says that it isn't enabled.... any help would be nice.

However, I took a screenshot in the CS which is OK anyway because it captures a large portion of the view.

I still have detailing and obviously interiors to do, but I got the greater portion of the exterior done :)

Are you sure you're doing it the right way? Ie launch macro editor, click on the button you want to use to make screens, in the upper left box select "function" and in the lower "take screenshots"; then save. MW's inbuilt function will never work with MGE.

Other then that, the High Presbytery llooks great! Though it must have been a nightmare to create and avoid clipping/visible gaps...

I don't believe I was doing it THAT way. I will redo it and get it to work, I only use MGE for my widescreen. My computer can't handle shaders :(

Thanks Karpik,

The chthonachs look awesome, can't wait to fight one. Do you have any other creature screenshots or any in the works?

I did see those too :) The rainbow bird is cool. If you want some critique... I think the puddlemonkey grunt would look better without his shirt... but that's just my opinion... not that I'm into anything weird like that...
