M2014 Rebalance Suggestions

Let's let a real rail (gauss) gun explain:

Boom!

A railgun is not a gauss gun.
While both types use magnetic fields to accelrate the bullet, they are using different systems to do so.

Also the bullet used within those test have a weight of more then 3kg. Comparing that to an M24 sniper rifle bullet has a maximum weight of 11,66g including 3g of propellant. So lets say a gauss bullet would be arround 10g. So it is 300 times the amount of mass. Also the bullet will be greater, and propably have a worse aerodynamic, therefore you need even more energy to accelrate it to those speeds. The current railgun prototypes build for ships have a muzzle velocity of about Mach10.

The Gauss-Rifle in Crysis2 will propably not fire a bullet at this speed, since the speed is decreased by the shorter barrel.

Sure it would make a sound, but I don't think that the sound would be any louder then the sound of a silenced sniper-rifle.

FYI it does more dmg than the DSG, just not enough for a 1-hit kill. In Crysis 1 alot of people complained when it was a 1-hit kill so I doubt that they will go back to that.

That would probably be relevant if Crysis and Crysis 2 had anywhere near the same gameplay.

It IS as accurate as the DSG. Some people don't get it. And look for my balance: Slower Firerate and 4 or 5 rounds per mag so one can only do single kills. And not even many.

No it isnt. The Gauss has 0.5 degrees of bullet spread while aiming which is questionable for a weapon thats intention is long range.

They both kill in the same amount of shots in the same locations despite the damage differences. The DSG-1 has so many advantages over the Gauss (particularly the silencer which gives no damage or range penalty) to the point where the Gauss is literally redundant.

Srry hedgehog, but i have to step in, the gauss is dead accurate in my hands. Only time i miss is when people are running by me, the DSG however seems to throw me off with its recoil. Not to mention a ceph gunship goes down with 3 shots with the help of the Gauss. Face it, its an upgrade over the DSG, only disadvantage is the noise.

Are you apologizing for your ignorance in thinking I was giving an opinion? You are not special and the game does not change its 0.5 degree bullet deviation because YOU are playing.

Crysis 2 has bullet spread even while aiming down sights. Its not as severe has hip firing but is still present. The DSG-1 has 0.0001 degrees of bullet spread while aiming and the Gauss has 0.5 degrees of bullet spread while aiming.

0.5 degrees is enough to make an on target shot miss on long range shots across maps like Sanctuary, Lighthouse, Liberty Island, etc.

Dude, I wasn't arguing with you, and if you consider it ignorance, fine, you seem to make everything a debate, I understand the facts and numbers are there, All i'm saying is why people whine about it being massively inaccurate, I feel its fine, and i'm suggesting "I" personally, don't have any trouble with the accuracy. It might be my horrible aim as well making up for the .5 spread that allows me to land the shots across the map....
