Right after I click play, I get a message telling me the game has crashed or that "eso has quit unexpectedly" it gives me 3 options..."show details, ok, reopen". it keeps doing the same thing over and over again! this is preposterous!!!

A lot of people are having this problem right now, including me. And, it has been a major issue in the past. There are many causes for this. Make sure your patches are up to date, and try repairing it. I was told in the past to keep your firewall off. I would suggest submitting a ticket to the support team at the elderscrollsonline website.
