Mac support?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:35 pm

I would find it useful if the next Elder Scrolls game had Mac support. I don't demand it, and I know how much more programming it would require, but in the end, my beliefs think it may be worth it. What's your opinion?

Definitely, seeing as how I'm on a Mac. I usually play TES games on consoles though. Always have.
I'd buy it for my Mac though, if it had Mac support for sure.

lol@someone actually voting no, counting some out so that they can't play it.
Why not? Why not make it so more people can play it? That's just silly to be like "nah macs can't play bro".

Definitely.

I have a Mac at my mom's place while my real computer is at my fathers, and I don't see him very often so... >_>

Who would actually reply no? It's not like having a mac version of the game is going to make the PC version horrible.

I have to say yes. Even though I have a seething, often unreasonable hatred towards macs, I don't see why people should be denied the option. I mean, there wouldn't be any cuts for PC because of it, right?

No. Because Mac users should suffer from not being able to play TES for buying a Mac, and then wanting to play games like TES. I dont like Macs. Not good for games.

I would love it.

Can't play Fallout 3 right now because it keeps crashing my crappy Windows computer. Would play it on my mac if I could get the wine wrapper to work.

Could bypass all that nonsense if it was compatible with mac OS to begin with. Then I'd never have to deal with windows and its clunkiness.

EDIT:
No. Because Mac users should suffer from not being able to play TES for buying a Mac, and then wanting to play games like TES. I dont like Macs. Not good for games.

Couldn't leave it be.

Here's the thing:
If you look inside a mac and pc, the hardware is the same. The only difference between the two is the operating system, and that's just an issue of interface, really. Any game can run on a mac if it is made compatible with the OS.

That being said, if you really hold that deep of an angry grudge against people who prefer a different OS from you, so much that you feel they deserve to suffer, I strongly suggest you get a prescription for anxiety medication.

Furthermore, as a mac user who has never harbored any ill-will towards PC users, I resent the fact that you wish for me to suffer, even though I have done nothing to you. And, therefore, I wish three times as much suffering onto your head and a plague unto your house. And I curse you with many obnoxious Windows security update notifications that will minimize your game in the middle of a fight and force you to reboot.

I would like it, so I voted yes. But I don't think that's going to happen. Developers seem to enjoy far too much making games with DirectX. Bethesda included.

I can't stand Macs, or how Apple never licenses their tech to anyone forcing you to buy obnoxious, rounded, glossy computers. I don't like the arrogant, "Macs are the cool young people's system, PCs are mainstream, it's not cool to support Microsoft" mindset that is probably just in my imagination.

But if cross-compatibility doesn't detract too much time and money from Bethesda's coders, why not? Bigger market.

That was probably the most outlandish thing I've ever read. Mac users should suffer? Emo much? Someone's a really devoted PC fanatic.

I voted yes. I'm a Mac user, but I generally get my Elderscrolls fix by emulation and dual operating system juggling. I believe porting to Mac would be good revenue for Bethesda, not just because of a larger audience, but because, and I know this first hand, Mac games don't drop in price. Take a look on the Apple Store at the Mac games, and see games that are old enough to be in the bargain bin for 9.99 in a PC store still running for new release price. Bethesda would be making top dollar every sale, from now until the year 2,100 when Elderscrolls 6 comes out.

:P truth to be told I'm not exactly the Apple lover but as long as it doesn't have a negative impact on the windows version I'm okay with it. I'm sure it would have some sucess so it would be good for Beth as well, and what's good for Beth ends up by being good for us :D

I'd rather it be PC and Mac than PC, PS3, and XBox360. That way they can design an interface solely around keyboard and mouse, not having to worry about those limited game controllers.

Eh, I'd rather they spend more time on something useful.

Maybe Mac should have more support for video games rather than the other way around.

I want linux support.

EDIT: Whynot, I have an equal disdain for Os X and Windows but no reason to leave anyone out.
