MacBook players, anyone?

Post » Fri Mar 28, 2014 11:38 pm

Yeah, I know. I bought my MacBook Pro for my job, not to play games. But it's what I have and it's all I have. I'm planning on a Bootcamp Windows 7 install of TESO.

Anyone do this in beta? How did it work? (I don't need to play on ultra - I just need it to work).

I played 3 beta weekends on a macbook pro. You don't need to bootcamp windows, ESO has a mac client. I played on medium settings, could have played on high, but medium was a little smoother.

should also point out that it ran great. I had a few crashes, but it did not happen often. frame rate was smooth, and I had a great time with it.

That's good to know. I knew ESO had a Mac client, but game rarely work as well on the Mac side as they do on the Windows side.

Will be playing on a 2012 MBP, though running on the Windows 7 side (via Boot Camp).

Have it installed also on the Mac OS side, but ESO just runs more smoothly on the Windows side.

Hope it runs smooth for you guys. I will be waiting patiently for the PS4 betas to start, as the macbook I played on was actually my wife's, and she was not overly thrilled with my hijacking her laptop for 3 days at a time to play games. Enjoy!

I have a 2013 MacBook Air, and it runs the game -- it ain't pretty, especially not compared to my PC, but it runs...

Good to know. I'll probably install it on both sides as well.

I didn't think it would be perfect, but I could live with the Skyrim settings (medium to high).

Actually if we're talking mostly low settings here, and that would be runescape graphics not Skyrim.

Right - my point is I'd be happy if the graphics were somewhat similar to Skyrim on medium/high. If not, that's okay, too, as long as I can play.
