MacCready's Killshot Perk

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 5:05 am

I have been traveling with MacCready to get his Killshot perk. I got to the point where I complete his personal quest and we travel around for a little longer. I keep thinking anytime now I will get his perk and reach max affinity. I am on PC and I get tired of waiting. I open up the console and check his affinity towards me and it is at 1400. It should of triggered at 1000 right?

I was wondering what would the console command be to add this perk, would it be player.addperk ?

he's not saying anything special when you talk to him? they won't always come forward when you reach a threshold, also maccready has two personal questions, if you've only done the first one, you'll need to do the second one to with his son as well.

I did his 2 quests kill the Gunners and find the cure for his son. I am at the point I think it must be bugged and was just going to add his perk thru the console, but wasn't sure on the command for a companion perk.

Maccready takes forever. Though I don't think it's supposed to take that long (holy crap 1400).

Try to pickpocket someone. I had the same issue and I was at a loss so I pickpocketed a guard in Diamond City then talk to MacCready and then I got the dialog and perk.

Hope this helps. I believe stealing something would also work.

Yeah, I got there pretty easily by just stealing in front him frequently. If nothing else works, try that for a while. (Goodneighbor is a good place to go to do it.)

I just used the console to set his affinity at 1000 and the next action I did he liked he presented me with the toy solider and received his perk. According to a wiki I was reading the max affinity should be 1000 or 1100 if romanced. For some reason his was showing 1400 and I decided it must of been a bug so I cleared it with the console.

Thanks for all the replies.

I haven't started MacCready's affection-building yet, but in light of the info here (ie he likes when I steal) I have a question ---- is it possible to steal without every psychic in the entire settlement knowing? I picked up a lighter from the TOP of the tower in Bunker Hill and when I got to the bottom of the stairs, everyone opened fire on me! It's possible i wasn't sneaking when I stole it, but I was on the freaking top of the tower --- how could anyone have seen me pocket a lighter?!

You can steal a lot of stuff in goodneighbor's werehouses, no one will complain about that. Btw yes, you must be hidden to steal things without people around you gettin mad, if you don't they will know that even if they are miles away

As I've said before (possibly to you in another thread,) I believe the objects at the top of the Bunker Hill tower are bugged. It didn't matter what I did when stealing them, I'd come down to a hostile settlement. So I'd just avoid those.

Two good places for me were Goodneighbor (as mentioned) and Vault 81. For Vault 81, just go into the living quarters rooms, close the door, and take everything not nailed down. Every so often, you'll get a "MacCready Liked That" message.

He does have the annoying habit of wandering around the small rooms and opening the door, so keep an eye on your "Hidden" message. I found that it helped to make sure he followed me into a room, told him to wait, and then closed the door. Save frequently as you clear the rooms just in case.

I desperately try to avoid getting that perk, because it's bugged like hell. I scrapped a good whole day of play because when I realized this, I had no earlier save.

It gives a perma 95% headshot chance with no regard to distance and weapon, instead a 20% increase.

I hope they patch it up quickly, because it's god-mode, making the game very easy.
