Isn't there some lore to support the existance of the Mace of Doom? I seem to recall reading a book that had it in Morrowind, though I can't for the life of me remember what the name of the book is. I do kremember that it recalled a number of rare and powerful artifacts of various nature.

You must mean the illusive, Slippers of Doom, not actaully actaully seen in game but existing within the CS.

Closest thing I can think of is the Mace of Slurring... or maybe the Daedric Scourge. May I ask why?

You might have gotten it confused with the Mace of Molag Ball or Daedric Scourge. Probably the latter because it's supposed to be an instant kill on a Daedra.

Just a random thought that occured after I heard of the Mace of Doom. I was like 'Hey, wasn't that mentioned in a book some where?'

The Mace of Doom is acquired using a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Unique_Items#Unique_Blades. Pretty sure you knew that, this is just for others.

No mention in the lore, though, sorry. You were probably getting it confused with the Mace of Molag Bal.
