Post » Tue May 22, 2012 5:24 pm

Had the mace a while now but am now level 94 smithing so thought id take it to the grindstone to make it legendary but i can only make it exquisite, how does it work with molag bal is it level 95 for epic and 100 for legendary? Because all my Daedric armor and weapons are legendary with my current smithing level, Thanks.

You cant, I had max Smithing and the highest I ever got it to was Flawless.

Probably due to the enchants it has.

Most unique items won't be smithable to the same levels as plain items. Looks to be intentional.

So you can improve weapons on the grindstone that are already enchanted?!? I was under the impression it was one or the other...

Sorry for the noob question; I usually stay away from "professions" in oblivion and morrowind...

this only applies to deadric artifacts it seems. most quest uniques can be upgraded because most of the time they fit into one of the smithing perks (you can see which one by the material needed to improve them on the stone) if it needs a steel ingot it falls under STEEL SMITHING. thats the reason why some items can be upgraded other not. deadric artifacts need ebony mostly. but even with ebony smithing you cant improve past flawless.

you CAN geht them to "legendary" but they would still be weaker by a lot compared to deadric ones if you have the perk.

use an entchantet gear or a + smithing improve potion from stores or selfmade. (look at the thread with the 3000k dmg weapons to see how this works) this way you can improve the mace of molag to legendary condition.
