So, my first character was a battle mage, but he was kind of a mess. I decided to start over. I created a Nord healing warrior-type character. Basically 1H Mace/Board and restoration for emergencies. My last character didn't attempt smithing at all, and it was kind of a disaster. I was level 16 still using Imperial Armor.
I decided on this character I would try smithing, but I know it can break the game if I invest in it too quickly. I'm basically not planning to buy any ingots or ore, so I'll only be leveling it from materials that I find. Will this slow it down so that I progress onto armor at a more realistic pace? I'm currently level 8, and I have Smithing at 31 doing it this method.
Also, my last character was an enchanter, and it was certainly helpful/necessary for the magicka regeneration enchantments. However, if I do enchanting on this character, will that just break the game since I'm already specializing in smithing? Or should I just go with smithing and not worry about enchanting, so that I'm forced to rely on drops some?
Basically, I want the game to be a challenge, but I don't want to be dying constantly because of my gear.
Thanks!
