You haven't bought many PC's in your life, haven't you?

imo, everyone that is crying out 'he consolez bashded moi ' needs to realise that its not a personal attack, its generally people that are fed up that game developers are making games designed to play on 5 year old hardware

or we'll have to simply wait a few weeks for modders to finish the game.

It's not the 5 year old hardware really. For me it's the lack of adaptation to a different control system and playing experience. That means things like games with mouse acceleration, lack of customisation options in menus, poorly designed menus, keys that cannot be bound and removal of things like lean. Other things like FOV needing an ini tweak to suit a monitor rather than a TV or that stupid "press any button to continue" or my favourite "saving. Do not turn off system" just show a lack of effort and respect and it's no wonder PC gamers are sick to their back teeth of it.

Obviously i'm not just talking about ES here.

Why does it matter? Why are you starting to bring this back up again?
Who cares, we all like different things n thats just like this thread, some people like PC and some people like Consoles.

I like Consoles because it just fits my needs, sure I may like the mods people make but I could never get used to keyboard and mouse when playing games, idk why I just can't get used to it even when I try to switch it over to other keys for normal stuff like walking, my hands just don't agree lol

But it still doesn't justify the generalizations. I guess there's nothing I can do about it. I just hate to see the community bicker.

Does anyone here ever go to the Bungie.net forums? That place has gone to flamewar hell. I would hate to see this forum go the same route.

I'm sure that Beth has learned their lesson from Oblivion. I'm sure that the UI will be smooth on both PC and Consoles.

Regarding Oblivion, don't forget that it was made with the old 4:3 aspect CRT TV's in mind.

I bought my PS3 because my I was sick of my computer getting viruses, even with the best security on the market. I did not buy my PS3 to get flamed and called an idiot and kiddie.

I know, the PC is "better," but I still prefer my PS3.

Everything from game informer has been screaming its focused almost entirely on consoles. The white board is covered with buttons from the 360 controller, the articles talk about how using the controller will be easy, how the UI will be streamlined, ect ect. Bad news for us.

No... It was not even top of the line when it got released. Your average PC now days is about 3 times faster then a console.

yeah.................i love it when people say that you have to spend thousands of dollars to make a good gaming rig and how you only have to buy one console every 5 or so years. thats is utterly pure [censored]. of all the people that i know that have consoles only one of them has their original system (PS3). and even he had to spring for an extra harddrive afterwards. everyone else is on their second and some of them their third console. you dont have to upgrade your PC ever year either. every game today will play just fine on the nvidia 9800s which are almost 3 years old now. the only reason you would have to upgrade is if you want DX11 features.

as for getting viruses on your computer that is your own damn fault. unless you going on warez sites or more seedy pormsites or your opening up every email from total strangers out there, you shouldnt be getting lots of viruses that cause issues. and if you are doing that stuff without good AV then you deserve to have lots of viruses on your computer.

as for the complexity of using a PC........i taught my grandmother who had trouble with remote controls how to use a PC. if you are saying that PCs are difficult to learn then you are admitting that my grandmother who was in her 60s and is about as technologically illiterate as you can get is smarter than you.

someone mentioned console buttons on the whiteboard........i wouldnt necessarily worry about that. PC keyboards are pretty standardized now. WASD , spacebar for jump, mouse buttons for attack and block, E for action the number keys for hotkeys etc. i dont really see that changing much in skyrim the only thing im not sure how they are going to to is sprint and the second attack button since we can use two hands now.

edit: i didnt mention the wii systems that some people have. all of those systems as far as i know are also the original system however i dont factor them in since they only get used a couple times a year at parties.

stop fighting or the thread is going to get locked, everyone agrees PC should have a slightly adjusted UI.


Many game companies do this even if the PC version sells less...including most of EA's developers.

the only reason people think you need to upgrade your pc every five minutes is because they have heard some many enthusiests talking about wanting to upgrade to the latest and greatest things, which you absolutely do not have to do

my current graphics card would be considered low-middle end (HD5750) and it can play crysis on high - semi very high at 30 fps.

The game will be designed around the 360 most probably. The reason being for 1, it is the least capable of the three platforms and 2, the PC version will be available with constructor set and modability. There will be a variety of different UI available within a month of release.

It cant be that bad, i mean a modable UI isn't a problem at all. Imagine not having access to all the mods you guys are always speaking of. When the game comes out i will not be on the forums anymore because it will just make me jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wouldnt matter because all 360 games are designed for the stock gpu/cpu and wouldnt take advantage of the improved hardware.

Ok so you don't need to spend thousands but hundreds yes, hell I had to give someone $80 just to get a better HHD.

About the viruses thing: My brother works in the computer field and editing area, mostly in movies and [censored] but has to do with ALOT of computer stuff, he is on the computer ALL DAY and he even says that you can get viruses JUST by having a basic internet connection, I tested this: I had installed on my mac (a computer known not to get viruses of any kind or none that atleast show up on scans) and I installed Windows 7, I had Windows 7 U installed on it than went back to my mac side of it thru boot camp, so I was off of the Windows side for about a week, I come back on and BOMB i have a [censored] load viruses...so yeaaaa....

thats what I mean like thats why the 360 is not FASTER than the PC because we can not improve upon the hardware like PC users can by installing new stuff

also, yes, you can get viruses just by having an internet connection, but the person/program needs to know your exact IP adress, which is hard to get unless you go around saying it everywhere.

That's exactly the point. Once consoles are released, they don't get better until the next one is released. In the meantime games have to adapt to work on that static technology, whereas PCs keep on evolving.

Ok than tell me how did I get viruses when I never used that side of the computer? I stopped looking up the more "indecent" sites just to test this theory out for a week on my mac side even and only went on sites like this or at the time gametrailers.com so how did i GET viruses hhmmm?
