I made a Skyrim Theme Hip Hop Remake.

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:39 am

I dedicate this track to Bethesda Game Studios. I took the Skyrim Theme and made it a hiphop version. Now I know some of you will think:"No! The Skyrim Theme is perfect as it is!!" Well I think to too but I did this to show how much we love Bethesda and their games.

Well, here is the link:

Hip Hop doesn't svck!

But back to topic, I think you should work more on your beat. Just adding a fast drumbreak and some dirty south claps is easy, making a good tune isn't ;)

I am not a fan of Hip hop as a music genre, but that's just my personal preference I think.

But it's a nice tune and all but if you're gonna turn the theme into something. Make it techno, we already have Techno Viking so that'll fit... somewhat.

While I don't like hiphop at all, I think that roughly first half was ok, but I didn't like second half.

It needs to be more than just laying a beat over the theme, like try to fit it in more naturally and use similar synthetic instrument tones. To tell you the truth, I do find it a bit more easy to listen to with the overlaid beat... I kind of like it.

Polish it and make a mod of it.

No type of music fits in games like TES but "epic" music, like something by Two Steps from Hell.

Making a hip hop remix of something is the opposite of showing love.
In reality it means you curse whoever made the original and hope they become sellouts.

Nah, just kidding. Didn't really like it though...

Use your own post as a source of inspiration in what to do next. The video you linked is a great one, come back when you manage to create something as good and people will praise.

Until then, keep trying harder until you know it's going to be good.

This is ridiculous. You can't ever say you dislike an entire genre with any validity since, unless by some crazy way you have somehow listened to every song that could be classified in that genre, you may very well find something in that genre you DO like destroying your whole opinion entirely. I don't like MOST hip hop and rap, but there are definitely some good songs out there, like Tennessee by Arrested Development, I personally do like a little of Lupe Fiasco's stuff, too. Generally, his lyrics are very poetic. As for people saying "Hurr durr, it hip hop doesn't fit/work in TES" well it's not like he's proposing they stick it in the game. And neither were Dan and Baron. Anyways, I have managed to find at least one song I like from every genre I have encountered, I suggest you try to do the same (also, not really hip hop, but most people here, I don't think, would know the difference, anyways the song is called "Fix up Look sharp" by Dizzee Rascal).

I don't understand why people have to write in this thread, just to flame hiphop music. This thread is headed the wrong direction...

Excacly. It aleast people should tell if they liked or disliked my track, but to burn the whole hip hop genre just because of 1 track is crazy.

Not bad and I don't even like the Hip Hop genre. I find folk/viking metal would suit the theme more so, though.

I think it would be interesting if they had some music that's unconventional in fantasy games to go with their unconventional settings, like in the Dwemer ruins or Oblivion realms, or if for example the background music in Telvanni and Imperial zones in Morrowind was as different as their architecture and attitudes were.
