Madmen of the Isles

This is a start up thread for a project I plan to work on in the future. I plan to bring my Heroes of Cyrodiil project to the Shivering Isles. But first I need you guys to send in your Shivering Isles characters. I will only be adding 20 characters in this mod which is much smaller than Heroes of Cyrodiil's 60. But this lower character roster will give me time to add some vibrant AI, dialog etc.

The guidelines are simple. I need a description of your character: Class, skills, appearance, equipment (Keep it vanilla/SI), story, etc. This time around I will have to be a little more discerning with which characters are added. The best way to increase the likelihood that your character makes it in is too give information, lots of information, more information than your post has room for! (Ok maybe not that much)

The main section I'm looking for here is story or stuff that the characters do. As soon as you get to New Sheoth you are plunged into a city of completely individual npcs all with their own quirks and odd routines. I aim to add very colourful individual characters.

So summit away! And thanks in advance for all the help you will do for this mod. Without you guys Heroes of Cyrodiil would have never happened.

I don't think it'd be a good idea to have npcs enter and exit the Isles. There's a lot of things that need to been done on the transition.

History:
Born in Leyawiin, Rakeem grew up with his family. At the age of 6, his family was traveling to Bravil when they were ambushed by Bandits. Able to hide, Rakeem was the only one to survive. He continued on into Bravil and was raised by people from the Fighters' Guild. He did lots of work for them, and made a modest income. However, Rakeem quickly lost interest in this, and decided to look for adventure. He became a freelance vampire hunter, and made alot more money.

While in Bravil, he heard of a portal out to the west, and decided to venture in. He found himself in a different realm and consulted Haskill who sat before him. He learned of the Gatekeeper and decided to test his skills. After making a nasty poison, Rakeem and some other Adventurers were able to take him on. Rakeem was able to take the gatekeeper and go through the doors into Shivering Isles.

While traveling on The Low Road, he was ambushed by Grummite. Immune to their poisons, the Argonian was able to fend them off. Learning of the Madness Ore, he traveled to New Sheoth and learned how to refine it and create armour. He then traveled to Blackroot Lair and was able to get alot of ore and make armour and weapons out of it.

However, because of his long times in the Lair, he gets lonely and befriends the Gnarl that are imprisoned there, and quickly befriends any visitors.

Unique Dialogue (If this is allowed):

[When First Met] Why Hello there, Friend! I am Rakeem and I make armor and kill Grummite. Have you seen Tal-Reekus, my Gnarl friend?
[When Asked about Tal-Reekus] He is my friend, and he reminds me of the Hist.
[When Asked about Blackroot Lair] Its big and cozy, the Grummite are nice enough to set up beds for me.
[When Dialogue is Canceled/ Player Leaves] Goodbye New Friend!
[When Player Leaves and is Argonian] Watch out for those Grummite! They swim as good as us!

History: Born to a wealthy family in High Rock (if i recall that's where Bretons are native to...), he was at one time a potent Mage, but got sealed in the SI after a experiment gone horribly awry. For some time he served Sheogorath as his battlemage, but eventually Sheogorath replaced him. He became a Greenmote junkie, and is now trapped in La-la Land* in a constant Greenmote stupor.
He's crazy, even by SI standards.

*Who in the SI ISN'T in La-la Land?

(First meeting): Gr...Greet...Greet--uh, *BURP*

Love the name! That bit of dialog is really funny too but I'd have to take out the direct reference to computer stuff. It's like a slap to the face immersion-wise.

back ground: born in black marsh, fast shot was taken by black marsh officials at an early age and trained in the skills of assasins. later in life he joined the dark brotherhood. he enjoyed his life there doing what he had done all his life. he progessed quite fast reaching the rank of silencer in his first year. His speaker was the mysterious lucien lachance. while fulfilling a contract, his target entered a strange gate in niben bay. being 1 to always do his contracts he followed him to the fringe. he chased him down throw the fringe and up to the gates of madness where his target was killed by the gatekeeper. he retreated and rested at the local inn. not knowing how to return to tamriel he decided to stay in this new place. he lived in passwall peaceably for a few months until big news hit, an adventurer and his friend jayred had killed the gatekeeper. he ran to the gates and entered the land of dementia, fitting for his shadowscale nature. he ran through the gates and found himself in the shivering isles. he couldnt take all the nature so looking at the map he had stole from the inn before going through the gates he saw new sheoth and ran there. he bought a house there and set-up his own little assasins school. he showed others the skills of alchemy, sneaking, marksman and security for a fee. he met sheogorath a few times but usually stayed away from him out of fear of the daedra lord. the roof of his crucible home usually has junkies fighting on it, of which he has partaken a few rounds in

first greeting to argonians: greetings fellow argonian, how can i be of service to u?

rumors: i dont listen to rumors i make them

training: i can teach you security, sneaking, or alchemy for a moddest fee my friend. or i can teach you archery, my favourite past time.

Yes I plan to add dialogue you submit. (Wow I've been spelling that wrong all along) I'm actually hoping to get a lot of dialog from people, the colourful and funny dialog is what really made SI for me. I don't want to water that down with these guys.

In Mania, a little out of the Gates of Madness, in a Viking Longhouse.

Description:

Leif is a surprisingly calm Viking, known as the most sane person in the Shivering Isles. He stockpiles almost every kind of weapon and armor in his smithy, the 1st floor of his house. If you have never met him before, he will only sell and buy at the first 10 percent from the minimum on the haggling scale. When he likes you however(above 80% disposition), he will buy your items at 75% price, and sell at the respective price. Also, every 4 days he will have a mini-quest to send you on. These quests will require you to seek out a certain item, anywhere from a simple Silver Longsword to a Full suit of Enchanted Glass armor, and even NPC-specific items such as the Honorblade of Chorrol, Debaser, or Witsplinter. A very careful and wary man, Leif keeps several Guard Dog's, as well as a Battle-Boar as security measures.

Twice a week, Leif invites several 'guests' to his house for heavy drinking, which often ends up in a drunken orgy. Occasionally, he will also invite friends and soon-to-be friends over for drinking as well, though this instead ends up in a drunken brawl, albeit one which no one remembers the next day.

All-in-all, Leif is a very friendly character. However, he can be one of two things:

Your best friend, or your worst enemy.


Carried Armor and Weapons:

Switching every 2 days between full chainmail armor with Steel Claymore, full Mithril armor with Dwarven Battle Axe, full Orcish armor with Orcish shield and Silver War Axe.

Cyricano grew up in Bravil as the son of a well known thief. Not following in his father's footsteps, he tended to enjoy studying magicka and the arcane arts. He lived a peaceful life until the age of 15 when the local crime lord killed his father. At that point, he swore that he would pursue the dark arts in order to be strong enough to avenge his father's death. The only problem is, whenever he has to do something "evil" he is always to good. He tries to make sacrifices to Sithis, but he can't make himself kill anything that isn't attacking him first. After arriving at the Shivering Isles, he moved into a ruin with the local Zealots hoping to learn how to control Flesh Atronachs and hopefully having some of their evil run off onto him. Sadly, this has not been the case. But, because of his desire for revenge, he continually attempts to pursue the dark arts. Thus, he became a permanent resident of the Shivering Isles.

Archmage Traven: "You are hearby forbidden in the arts of magic for your and ill craze within the council and disrespect to the empire!" (starts casting a silence spell) Ilzark: (Shoots a fireball at the archmage and casts a teleport spell) Ilzark was a powerful mage known as a magus he was aquainted to the council as the archmage's nephew. He quickly learned spells and was soon uping his way to the council which was successful. But when traveling to the Bruma mages guild, looking across the water he saw what was a sort of magic teleport. He quickly investigated as a council member since it seemed magical. When arriving to the doorway of the 3 heads. He heard a jolly old man ranting then out of all oblivion he was svcked right into the doorway. As if no time has passed he was spit back out. But that of a different being. He traveled back to the university telling his uncle of his experience, he was accounted for blasphamey. This ticked Ilzark off. He quickly started to loose his mind and do wierd un-human like behaviour and so as explained earlier as a penilty to his actions. He retured to the Shivering Isles as a madman to his master. Ilzark returned as a Madman of the Isles. Hes intentially a sociopath, not intially crazy but ya :P Dialouges: When first greeting: "Do it...you know you want to....Oh hello there um creature being all the same things right? Right no need to correct me not at all." Excuse me response: What! You dare pass gas in his royals court!? I should have u hanged or was it that we hang out? When knights of order come into play: "Knights of Order?, PAH, more like Mineral Maggots" Response to Mineral Maggots: "I mean really? Crystal armor? Or is it a special rock? Maybe its candy....I like candy.: (since they look like minerals etc), Rumours: "Sheogorath can do anything, if he blinks clowns will mug you or was it chickens? Maybe both!" "Where do you get shivering isles out here? I mean really am i shivering? Wait or is it that the isles are shivering? PAH all peesh posh."

Looks: I use custom hairs...but I guess winded braids would work as a hairstyle that's vanilla. Heterochromic (again, mod added. So just go with green or blue eyes). If possible add a beard, if not...well...that's okay. I didn't change much of his facial features. If it's not too much work, making him look hardy (like a Nord or Redguard) would be fitting. Has brown hair.
Class: Illuminati (custom class, skills listed below. Use something like an assassin or agent if you don't want to add a custom class)
Level: Around 30. He's exactly 32 in my save game.
Skills: Blade, Marksmen, Light Armor, Illusion, Security, Sneak, Acrobatics. If possible make his values to be around how a person who is level 30 would be. Mostly uses Marksmen, Sneak, Light armor and Illusion.
Equipment: Leather Armor Top, Blackwood greaves (I used a mod to change them to light armor), Blackwood gloves (again, light armor), leather boots. If possible, a black cape too. If not, that's okay. Ebony Bow, elven arrows and a elven longsword* as weapons.
Story: An Imperial that was raised in Hammerfell, he possesses a hardy, sea-loving attitude. He was formerly a bodyguard to a powerful merchant, and grew experienced through years of fighting off bandits and pirates. One day, a good friend of his was dragged off and killed for stealing from his master, and so he left Hammerfell, abandoning the man (The merchant was later killed at sea by pirates, though Sirius doesn't know that). He stumbled upon the shrine of Sheogorath, and in his disillusioned state, became a worshiper. Soon enough, he was granted access to the Shivering Isles via the portal east of Bravil, and was proven worthy of passing through the gates. He chose the door of Dementia, and has become a dark, sadistic individual who despises merchants and brokers. He has basically become a bandit, preying on any travelling merchants. However, he will not attack someone who isn't a travelling salesman, and thus likely won't attack the player unless he offers to sell something.
Location: Wandering the roads in the lands of Dementia. Sometimes goes to Crucible to harass the merchants.
Other info: Drinks a lot (so have some mead, or something in his inventory), and is rather poor. He is a skilled sniper/fighter, though, and is used to living in the wilderness.
Ideas of dialogue: Maybe you could add an option to ask if you want to sell Sirius something, and he reacts violently and attacks you? ;D I don't want him to be an easy fight, though, but I guess that's up to you. Also, in the ideas of dialogue below, I thought i should clarify that he refers to merchants as bugs.

First meeting him:No mule. No cart. No materials. Not a salesman. Oh! Hello, the name's Sirius. Traveling bandit and all around merchant killer. Dastardly things.
Asked about merchants:Frightful little creatures. One tried to sell me something the other day. Kept crawling up my leg, trying to peddle something with me. I cut it into three pieces and ate it. Full of protein.
Ask about him:You aren't trying to sell me something, right? Good. Well, I was born and raised in a place filled with the dirty bugs. I was surrounded day and night, so i fled. I fled long and hard, and I came here! I still see them, but now it's not so bad...not bad at all. In fact, I've started eating the ones that get on me. I haven't been healthier for as long as I can remember!
If you offer to sell something:*acts scared* Ah! There's another one! Kill it! Kill it! Please don't crawl on me!
Rumors:Be careful. The roads are filled with merchants. The frightful little devils just get everywhere! In my clothes, under my finger nails...and no matter how many I eat, they just come back!

* If possible, could you add a different weapon as a sword? Anything that you deem fits and isn't vanilla would work, as I don't want him to be too bland of a person to be interesting to the player. If Not, I guess it doesn't matter.

Story: Fix, thats what his job was, fix, thats what he was good at, fix, something that sheogorath did to him. Val Bezz was good in the tinkering buisness. He could fix anything, even something that wasn't broken he could fix it. He grew up in a well middle class family. His father was off doing buisness in Valenwood while his mom raised him. He was the only child she bore so he recieved all the toys, and well, toys got broken. Mrs. Bezz didnt want to pay for any toy tinker so Val fixed it. Well one day, Val's nice wooden boat, all fixed up was let into the Niben Bay, and the current was strong that day, it took his boat all the way out to the small island to the "Mysterious Door" He took a nice lil boat out to the small island and retrieved it, but he decided to explore and became captivated by the mystical door in front of him. He entered and never came back home...he spent the rest of his days in the pub within The Fringe...as a Madman of the Isles...

Equipment: Not sure what it's called, Blacksmiths Apron or something (no pants or shoes) and (if it's possible) a fork of horriba something (unlootable). If not, iron arrows (no bow). He has a strong invisibilty spell, so he doesn't get constantly owned.
Story: He's always been what he calls nomadic (homeless), doing nothing but stealing skooma. One day, he was convinced his tail fell off when he took stole a bit too much.
He swam through the Niben Bay (or whatever it is), searching for his tail.

He eventually came across the portal leading to the Fringe, where he entered and stabbed the Gatekeeper in the rear, thinking he had his tail. He stayed in the Fringe, looking for his tail, untill the Gatekeeper was slain. Now he wanders the SI, looking for his long lost buddy in various ruins.

Dialogue:
[First Greeting] Do you know where my tail is?
[Greeting Afterwards] Find my tail yet?
[Asked about tail]I've lost it! It must be here!
[Rumours]I've heard I've lost my tail!
[When said that he does have his tail]Really? (exit conversation and he runs around in circles)

Equipment: Steel chest and legs, leather bracers and sandals. Steel shortsword and a light iron shield. Maybe a lvled ring of protection so he doesn't get too weak.
Story: He was born in the SI. Unfortunately, he was sane.

This drove him insane.

Appearance: Any type of outfit combination that comes from Mania

Equipment:Sword and Shield, the more manic the better!

Location: Sitting down on a chair next to the Hill of suicides, with a little table in front of him. On top is a plate, with some cutlery and what looks like humanoid flesh.

Dialogue: "I hope the next one is Orc, I haven't been eating enough greens!"

Second time initiating conversation: "You look rather tender, perhaps you should pay Sheogorath a visit..."

Third time conversation is initialized: "Why are you still in one piece...I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!"

And then he breaks conversation and attacks.

EDIT: I forgot to ask if you are still planning on doing this (Love Heroes of Cyrodiil) as it was buried in the forum for quite some time. Should you decide to make it and find it entertaining to do so, I know your a fan of 'The Deserts of Anequina" so it would be amazing to see a 'Felines of Anequina' ;D

Location: He can be found on the streets of Bliss. When are you close to him he'll start the conversation.


Dialogue:

[first time]: Dirt, dirt, everywhere dirt!
[next]: Look at YOU! So clean, so bright!! You..., you are not from around here! You can't be!!
[next]: Quick!! We must leave this rat [censored] smelling place. Fallow me! Come..faster!
[Option1-you fallow]: He runs outside town and when far enough so guards don't spot you he attacks you.
- Such a shame, but I need your clean clothes, I must have them!
[Option2- you don't]: He commits suicide.

I like imediate results so that the player can feel the consequences of his actions. :P
