Mads Mikkelsen

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 3:42 am

In the 4th video from the Sounds of Skyrim 0:35 is Mads Mikkelsen, a danish (propably one of Denmarks best) actor. He's the guy in the buttom.
Then i wonder if he is a new voice actor, or if he is singing the chorus or what his job is? But I think it's cool that he is playing some role in Skyrim :foodndrink:

If that's true, then Techno Viking is in Skyrim as well.

He was the bad guy in Casino Royale, a lot of his earlier work is in danish ,so you most likely wouldn't get much out of it ^^ But he's a great actor.. Also believe he was is Clash of the titans and King Arthur, not those are not really good movies ^^

It's just a picture, just like the techno viking in there. It doesn't mean anything.

Strange thing is, sometimes you can barely hear it, and sometimes it's really obvious *Shrug* besides I'm pretty sure the picture was for reference of mood not an actual picture of him because he's casted

Probably mood. He played brilliantly in Valhalla Rising (2010), which has a lot to do with Norse mythology, which in itself is what Skyrim and the Nords are based upon. The picture in the video is also from that movie, where he plays "One-Eye"

Read about Valhalla, and read about myths about Nordic afterlive. It's the same. The skaal in Solstheim derive from the Norse Skald. The architecture is synonymous. Loki as betrayer, well, that's not too far-fetched either.

Mads Mikkelson is a superb actor, it would be an exceptional choice for some of the voice work.

Yeah, he'd be amongst the top actors I'd pick out to voice Skyrim. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH2cyzKw9Qg

I'd much rather the Nord voices be Northern European accents than an American speaking in a deep voice.

XD Well, I'd recommend seeing Valhalla Rising, except he doesn't make a sound in it! He's in Kill Bill as well.

They probably watched Valhalla Rising to get a feel for Nordic culture. He's probably not in the game, but I certainly would not complain if he was.

I say we throw in Michael Persbrandt too. Though, I don't think he's ever done anything in English. I think it's cool they're bringing in people from our corner of the world. Saw some picture from Norway a few days back wich, in some way felt scandinavian. I knew they were from Norway, so I'm likely biased (Norweigians are more awesome than our jokes sometimes gives them credit for), but it did.

I also bought a cool bearglass today. The model is called Mj?d (Mead), It's a cool one in itself, but ofcourse it made me think of Skyrim. I'm such a nerd...

no way, Mikael Persbrandt.. no way, no F******* way, he's totally lame and I would never "get into" the game if he was a voice actor. yes I'm swedish and he plays a "bad cop" in a swedish multi-episode-movie called Beck.. he's svck a "memorable" character with a really "odd" voice and character that I would just.. never feel right, lol.

no.. just no.

Stellan Skarsg?rd would be a good choice instead.
