What exactly are you having problems with?
You need to focus on robes and only robes in the beginning of the game as they give you the best bonus' in magika and magika regeneration. Try to complete the College of Winterhold as soon as possible because there's some robes with nice bonuses on them. I would also advise on focusing on enchanting as well. If you get your enchanting up to level 100 where you can add two enchantments on each piece, you can focus on one main magic type and it wont cost you anything to cast.

Example,
Say your primary focus is destruction. You have an enchanting level of 100 and focus on the middle of the skill tree. Put destruction on 4 pieces of armor or whatever you want to use along with rings and necklaces. 4x25 = 100. So if its at 100%, it wont cost you a thing to cast any magic.
