Mage Dueling

Hello everyone,

Was re-reading my game informer magazine (Skyrim Issue) and noticed under the Radiant Story section that it says a mage might ask you to duel on the streets. This is pretty cool and got me wondering how Bethesda would pull this off. Would it be a stand off like Red-Dead dueling surrounded by people more of a sandbox activity or would it be an open world duel where you can run around the city and take cover behind objects (more dynamic).

Would be awesome to see some physics during the fight as your spell hits a foe and gets countered. Hopefully we can see that blocked/countered spell ricochet off of shop signs or moves boxes it hits.

As a player who mostly plays battle mages, I would love to see a vast improvement in the Mage Guild and guilds in general. Were rank actually does mean something and not just a title. I loved the staff quest of the mages guild. I thought it was very cool, only to find out that I wasn't going to make my staff and that my guildie was dead somewhere and I had to fight tons of necromancers in the middle of nowhere lol.

Critique.

Yeah, sounds pretty good. I think it would be quite funny if your little "duel" ended up killing half of the local citizens and decimating a large section of the town. Would be pretty epic, but also hilarious. Guy was just minding his own business, towing a cart full of mead to the local bar, and got his head blown CLEAN OFF by a stray fireball.
