Magic backpack system.

I think there should be a weight allowance based on strength (and if the Strength attribute is removed, then maybe a perk)
if there were backpacks, they should not be magic, meaning they have a limit and should be shown on the character's back.
I would want strength limits when using conventional bags. The fantasy setting allows for magic bags; Magic bags also need not remove the weight completely; I've seen some described as weighing a % of the total, and others as weighing say... 40 pounds (even if there was more than that in them).

It might be fun/funny if the PC could use more than three bags, at an agility cost per extra bag, and have them pile up on the PC, but I doubt it would be worth the technical trouble.

One thing though... I would hope that strength limit was not the only limit in place. A strong warrior might be able to lift seven halberds, but running around with them loose in the arms is all but impossible; and bundling them up makes them impossible to fight with. IMO the inventory system should account for awkward objects. The Witcher did a pretty decent job with this I thought.

Been ages since I played The Witcher, so forgot how they did it there.

Personally I'd like bags of different grades (the better grade the more (room wise) you'd be able to carry.
A backpack for big stuff, and a few belted bags for stuff like ingredients, potions, misc, etc.

The weight will remain the same or maybe somewhat less depending on the quality of the bag, but certainly nowhere even near 50%. So it would still come down to a strong Nord being able to carry more than a scrawny elf thief.

And feather potions, and enchantments. You also have the very practical fortify strength 100 for 3 second spell who let you carry a lot, think the most I have carried was over 2000 units.
So I don't really see the need.
I have one small bag from a mod with limited capacity 50 weight I believe. use it to clean up inventory for rarely used items and keep black and grand soulgems safe so they are not filled with lesser souls.

As for weight in Oblivion/ Morrowind an item weight take in volum and balancing this is why daeric swords is so heavy., swords weights 1.5-2 kg in real world it's no problem carry 20 in a backpack. a full set of plate armor weights around 30 kg, however its so bulky that it would fill your backback.

One good idea is to put bags on your horse. Also very realistic.

There should be special equipment that can lead to an Oblivion pocket realm, much like the amulet that Divath Fyr has that takes you to that daedric place with no entrance or exits. A pocket realm would essentially be that.

I don't really care one way or another about magic bags, but what I'd really like is a magic KEYRING.

Nothing bothered me more than having to scroll through a giant inventory screen filled with 0 weight keys, and the only other option was to fill a desk in a house up with them. :glare:

Keyring was in Fallout 3, so I wouldn't worry about that.

There should also be a quest that has a gateway into that realm, and lets the PC find a huge pile of stuff to loot... Only to find out later that he's stealing from his own pocket. :lmao:

I forgot what it was like. Didn't much care for Dragon Age, so completely forgot the backpack system there.
