If they were better explained before, what's the need for an explanation now? Maybe they left it up to you/your RPed character to decide...

1.) SS had too many chems or maybe being frozen for two centuries screwed up their mind? Would the supernatural count as magic?
2.) Well, you did a good job explaining it yourself.
3.) Lucky hat. Well, maybe there is a four leaf clover inside of it? Maybe Cait might have worn it in the past and brought Lady Luck and/or the Luck of the Irish to it?
Endurance is partly a measure of how much damage you could take and leather is pretty tough, not to mention have you seen how sturdy that leather looks when you have it equipped? Imagine elbowing or shouldering someone in the face with it.
Yep those are my flawed explanations right there!
I completely agree that different ammo types would be more logical. At the same time I can't imagine having to carry around 5 or more types of each kind of ammo with me all the time and find time to switch to the right ammo for every attack (I never even bothered in FO-NV). Course I'm also carrying around weightless ammo ... which, knowing how much a full ammo box weighs ... is total BS.
I suppose for ease of game play something has to give, but I still think the magic guns are just too much. But like I said I sell all my legendary anything so I don't have to think about it.
1. It's weird and mysterious and ancient. Doesn't necessarily mean it's magic though. Could just as easily be a giant alien robot with mind control rays or something. But the point of the thing is it's inexplicable, so it could be straight up magic.
2. I was thinking something similar to bolo bullets, but yeah, the basic idea has already been done.
3. Strength: Back brace, wrist wraps, etc. Endurance: Tougher or thicker materials, well fitted shoes, etc. Intelligence: Thinking caps.
I absolutely hate it. Its a sci fi game, not a fantasy game. I make a point of not using magic weapons or enchanted armor.
i think telekinetic skills through mutations and cybernetics and the such could be cool, there are small parts of it in the game
The Fallout setting is sorta of a parody and what not, so it does not bother me one bit.
Cthulhu mythos can fit into most genres if it wanted. Even romance though the tentacle thing is normally frowned upon.
Hmm. I seem to recall several episodes of Star Trek: Next Generation (Science) involving the infamous/nefarious Q. (Fantasy, much like a Cthulhu god-figure) [At least in terms of omnipotence.] So mixing the two really isn't a new concept.
Remember in Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos they were elder beings, ancient aliens from the far reaches. They were not gods. Deep pockets I see as webbing, and the other bonuses can be explained with a little imagination. It just depends on whether you want to make an effort or not.
Indeed. I even reported myself to the RSPCA at one point for making Dogmeat hold 15 fatman's (fatmen?).
