Magic finishing move

Post » Tue Nov 02, 2010 9:09 am

I would like when you cast an fireball or flare spell and the finish move should be like the guy burns alive or rat,(then raw rat meat turns into rat meat :) )

Ice spell should be the enemy freezing into an block of ice or something

Dont know what shock should do ...

shock could make the enemy twitch violently while screaming in agony then his head explodes

Wow, these Are all soooo unique and well thought out. id love some kill-blow magic effects, but please, not just like every other game. this will prolly feel enough like bioshock as it is, I don't want the same death animations too.

I think destruction magic finishers should be like a Kamehameha-style blast that burns/shocks/freezes/blasts from range or if a touch, a one handed blast to the stomach.

I've always wondered.
Magic kill moves would be cool, but to make them more like the melee kill moves, wouldn't it just be a special way that your character casts the spell? It wouldn't necessarily have to have a bizarre effect on the enemy.

He should turn old, wither and turn to dust.

There needs to be a darkness spell that summons a gigantic orb of black magic from the heavens that crashes on top of the enemies and suffocates them to death, or just makes them slowly blow up.

This should definately be in the game. Not every time you kill an enemy, but just randomly. Every once in a while, you would do a really flashy, slightly buffed up version of the spell. For instance, as soon as you pull the trigger for a fire spell, the game gives a random roll on whether or not it'll be normal. Most of the time, it will be, but sometimes it won't. On those occasions, if you held it down for a flamethrower type thing, it would be a huge cone of babtism by fire. Of course, have it drain a little extra magicka, but still, it would be nice to have.
Actually, now that I'm typing this, I came up with a better iea. Have a system similar to Gears Of War's reload. If you did something just right, it would work better. For instance, a faster moving fireball. And if you did something perfect, you would have a large, fast moving ball of flaming death.

skin melting from fire.
completely exploding from a fireball.
freeze and shatter from ice.

Would be cool if there were environmental finishing moves. Like shield bashing them over an edge in to a pit of spikes. Or those random traps trolls always seemed to set in oblivion, logs, swinging spike things, pressure pad darts, I forget the rest. But actually have a kill animation involved with those traps, not just ragdolling.
*sorry I know a little off topic*
I know there's a few magic traps that are set too. So same idea.

I think this would be a cool one for a ice spell.
Your enemy becomes frozen solid then he explodes into shards.
Probably not original but I think it sounds pretty cool.

What the hell is a Magic finishing Move?

Melee attacks make sense because there is a detection between the player and their contact with the enemy, how exactly do you get a finishing move from a fireball hitting an enemy?, the only thing that would make sense......*gasp*!! dare I say it? oh no but its inevitable....

Critcal hits ala Fallout, where lasers turn people to dust and plasma melts people..

just another thing in the bucket...*sigh*

If i recall correctly beth wrote that thy will use deadly reflex as the base for their combat system.
All of those fetures are present in deadly reflex. fire make enemies into crispy remains, frost turn them to block of ice that you can shatter, cant recall electric...
in my opinion all of thos finishing moves will be present in skyrim.

I believe that is already one of the available spells, I think it's a trap spell.

it can be a great idea.

if we have melee finishing moves we should have spell finishing moves too! all the classes should be balanced!

Nope, I'm not...or at least I think I'm not. I remember looking at a thread about a new magazine interview and one of the things mentioned was a trap spell that shot up ice spikes when an enemy stepped on it.

Grab someone's face with your palm, and blast fire from it, charring the poor souls face as he screams, and slumps to the ground.

Are there stealth spells? Not like illusion magic, such as becoming invisible, but more like silent magical kills? Because that would be cool! There would I imagine, be perks to enhance the stealthy kill nature of them, like there are for daggers.
