I was wondering if anyone noticed that in battle magic generally restores slower. I have Morokei and the Arhcmage's Robes equipped which = 200% magic regeneration. If I drain my magic bar outside of battle it refills within seconds as if extreme magicka potion restoration was an effect. When I cast spells in battle it's as if the items weren't equipped at all. I made sure that the enemies I was facing didn't drain any of my magic. Even if they could I highly doubt any one enemy can slow magic regeneration by 200%. Is this a glitch or does magic just regenerate slower when in battle?

Im getting the same on my mage, during combat its slower for some reason. Its probably another bug from patch 1.2. It seems Bethesda has broken the game even further by trying to fix it.

I've noticed this as well, just count that as one of the many bugs. I'm playing 1.1 or whatever version is not the just released patch.

It's not a glitch, magicka just regenerates slower when in combat.

Magic Regen bonuses don't apply in combat. I'm unaware of whether theres been any official statement as to that being a glitch or not. (The fact that Fortify Magicka has a value edge ingame seems to indicate such).

So the only way to push it up in combat is to get more Magicka (levels or Fortify Gear/Potions), since you regen 3% a second.
The other method is to get Fortify School enchants and potions, which you can get 2 or 3 schools casting at 0 cost.

Actually they do work but slower.

I have +250% magicka regen with my gear on... tested it in combat with and without the gear. With the gear, I went from empty to full in ~30 sec. Without the gear, after 30 sec I was only at about 1/4.
