Hello all,
I have a few items that are magical and i am not sure how or where to go to get them refilled...
would i have to go to the Arcane University to get them refilled?

You can get them recharged at most Mages Guilds, or there is a stone you can get to recharge them. Can't remember the name at the moment. :)

All the mages guild halls have one person who does recharging, and there's one at the AU as well. More conveniently and less expensively, you can recharge an enchanted weapon with a filled soul gem. Just click on the soul gem in your inventory and it'll open a menu, showing your items that need charges and the amount of charge you're going to get from that particular gem. When you use the soul gem, it's destroyed (normal ones can't be refilled, so they only have one use). You get 150 points from a petty soul, 300 points from a lesser, 800 points from a common, 1200 points from a greater and 1600 points from a grand. It doesn't matter what size the stone is-- all that matters is what size the trapped soul is. And, of course, empty soul gems won't work, so if you've got a bunch of those, you need to get busy trapping some souls. There's an artifact you can get called Azura's Star (keep an ear open for mentions of Daedric shrines). It's a refillable soul gem, so you can use it over and over. And finally, a Varla stone will completely recharge every enchanted item in your inventory, but it's destroyed in the process and there are very few of them available in the game. They can only be found in specific Ayleid ruins.

You mean a Varla stone. They work, but they're very rare, so not a reliable bet.

There's a list here[http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Recharging#Recharge]

The best way is to trap your own souls into Azura's Star.

Agreed. If you don't use mysticism you can also use Umbra as well.

Agreed, Umbra is a great sword and good to trap souls. Not much point in recharging Umbra if it's your only weapon though. Someone reminded me of that when I had been doing it for weeks, and I felt pretty stupid. :P

Ya I know haha. I mean you can recharge it if you have Azura's Star and your not really losing anything. Its fun to use in combination. If you wanna RP and just use like two weapons max than Umbra is the perfect second weapon, just switch when your other one runs out and walaa.

Getting access to the enchanting altars (University or Frostcrag) is amzaingly handy. Then of course, enchant a wonderful weapon of your own and inlcude a brief soul trap effect to keep it fed. :)

Umbra has wonderful base damage, but unless you are using it to help feed other weapons, it is kind of like a self-liking ice cream cone. :icecream:

Nothing wrong with that. I prefer using the premade items or sigil stone enchanting. Enchanting with like triple elemental damage and casting a mass weakness and killing in like two hits is no fun after a while.

You can also use scrolls, although Umbra is more efficient, it can be hard to kill Umbra.

Umbra hungers for souls....... If you have a high illusion skill, she and a lot of enemies in the game are wayyyy easier.
