Borrowed some cash from a friend, bought it. Now time to see how it is. Already been a patch, this is a good sign. There also promising more patches, which is also good. I bought this game on faith, don't disappoint Arrowhead Games Studio.

I bought it without even beating the demo, it is a lot of fun. It has a lot of funny references from other games and I've also seen a few movie references. The airship level was slightly annoying but it has been worth the $10 so far. Thunderbolt is awesome.

The demo is pretty fun. If we can get people to play as a group I'd buy it.

edit: bought it anyway. Steam name is in sig

How do I get my Steam items?

The demo is a lot of fun, I'll probably be getting this in a bit. Which is saying something a lot the game, I usually wait till these types of games go on sale before I buy them.

One question, can you save in the main game, or at least load at your last checkpoint? Or do you have to play the whole thing through? The demo always made me restart..

Each level you restart unless you got a checkpoint stone. I've heard they'll change it but

I guess that could make the single player a bit more interesting than just saving constantly. Is there a difficulty changer? I mainly just want to make it harder so you can keep up a challenge when playing with a group of experienced players.

I don't believe so. There's almost no menu; You can't look at the controls, you can barely change graphics, etc. I think most of it will be added in patches due to popular demand.

Ok, thanks. As I recall they are a good company so I may take a 'leap of faith' and go ahead and purchase it under the assumption they are going to fix it.

Last question:
Does anyone know about how long the game is?

This game is fantastic, I just got to level two. Already the amount of spells is overwhelming. Okay when leaving the tower area there's a magic tomb up top on the walkway thing leading from the main building to the tower in the water. Did I miss that, or do you backtrack and get it later?

Edit
I love my fireball spam. So simple, elegant and effective. Ice shards are also good, but spamming laser shards is a bit more difficult.

Edit
Steam name is Gamgcc but it will show as Gamgee. If anyone wants to play just let me know. I'm not sure if there's anything else to do in game, but we can work it out as we go along.

Played through the demo, then bought the full game. It's amazingly fun, though I mostly just seem to spam Earth a lot. It's fun to watch Goblins go "splat."

It's already sold 30,000 for the first day. That's awesome.

I have discovered the fun of hiding in a bubble shield kept alive by "health mines" (for lack of a better term), then casting meteor shower, and watching hordes die. And the game gets quite challenging in single-player once you get about halfway through, I've been repeating parts of the level a good amount of times before I manage to get lucky and finish.

That alone from the Kotaku article makes me want this game. Payday can't roll around quick enough

The demo seems fun from what I've played, but unfortunately terrible performance and the inability to save or continue in any way (checkpoints seem to do nothing) has severely limited how much actual playing went on. Hopefully patches will make it kind of functional soon.

The not saving part is part of the demo.

This game is really hard sometimes (but awesome in that whole "I'm gonna DIIIEEE" kinda way)... it doesn't help that I just want to use the M60 on everything. :P

I still have a lot of trouble figuring out just what hurts different enemies - the game isn't terribly helpful in that regard, either. I suppose it rewards experimenting...

One great strategy is trying each element with the shield. With Earth + Shield, rocks burst out of the ground and form a protective barrier (that's how I killed the snake boss). Fire + Shield does what you would think, makes a circle of fire around you. Each element makes the barrier around you with it's respective damage.
