Main Quest Reward

No. This isn't Fable.

Being King of Skyrim does not equate to the horrible implementation of the concept in Fable III. Lionhead always generally has great ideas, but their implementation is always usually sub-part at best. That is now how BGS does things. I think we saw a good start with becoming Sheogorath in the Shivering Isles, and I wouldn't be against the idea if BGS added more responsibilities and benefits to the task.

Aside from being a king though, a pat on the back or "thank you" would be nice. I don't really need much. I'm sure by the time we are at the end of the game, we will likely have the best armor/weapon anyways, unless you are the type to just plow through the story without doing anything else.

every game has to have an ending because otherwise it kills my immersion

Prepare to have your "immersion" killed then.

Wow... all these years and I never noticed it. I feel stupid now

Well, you have a few months. Run through the main quest again to get you ready for Skyrim. :)

Edit: Don't feel stupid . . . it's not that great a statue.

There was a statue in Bruma?!?!?! Since When?!

Nevermind, someone cleared it up, but do not worry, I still discover things in Morrowind, but I think thats becuase my first was Oblivion but still.

Ooo theres a mod that changes your statue so look for that :)

and ontopic: Something nice for my assassin ;)

I just hope the reward is good. Azura's ring svcked. The Dragon armor in OB was really good in terms of DP, but the enchantments weren't good. I think armor and weapons don't make good rewards even though there cool because there's a chance you aren't skilled in that item. Something everyone can use would be the best.

They could make the reward be based off of your highest skill. And if say one handed is best then maybe you could choose which type you want, like how you could get a heavy or light version of the imperial dragon armor. I just hope skyrim isn't ruined by having leveled equipment that's useless in 10 or more levels.

Okay, okay, technically you're correct. But I think what he means is the "main quest" has to have finality. Just like the Main Quest in Oblivion ended with Martin's death and so on.

And maybe he'll stop playing the game after that happens. If so, his loss.

I loved the Imperial Dragon armor in terms of looks...too bad it svcked <_<

I want something ultimate though, something that looks awesome and is better in everyway than anything else in game. So if you get a weapon it's the strongest in game, or if it's an armor it's the best in game. I mean you "ended the game"!

Ok I'm getting sick of people saying a game element is a bad idea because the same element was in Fable. Just because Fable is bad doesn't mean that everyone of it's elements is doomed to hell forever. Fable had NPC's in it you know, maybe Skryim shouldn't have NPC's. It also had swords, I guess TES shouldn't have swords then either.

This ^. Seriously. Fable was flawed but had a few good ideas.

I think it'd be super sweet to be able to customise your own building/lair type thing. In Oblivion they had a bunch of DLCs basically tailored to most character styles. It'd be cool if you could simpy design your own for your character's playstyle. Maybe even change it later on if your character changes, since it's no longer so set in stone. Especially if you finish off the main quest line at a low level.

This may sound cheesy... but I think the quest should be exciting and interesting enough to be its own reward.

Despite me using 'ultimate', it probably wouldn't be good to give the BEST weapon or armor as a reward because if you complete the MQ without doing much else in the game the rest of the game will probably be a breeze. I hope that equipment levels with you so items don't start too strong or weak.

Ultimate weapon or armor made out of Alduin's soul?

Plus the statue is made with whatever you had on during the battle for Bruma that was the most expensive, regardless of whether it was equipped or not....

Edit- Oh and to the OP, I would prefer it be either a weapon, or a castle of some sort.

I liked Morrowind's. A ring from a goddess and worldwide thanks.

In Oblivion, the armor looked cool and fulfilled a great role as the armor of the CoC.

Personally I don't like huge rewards. Nothing offsetting, just something like a nice ring or cool looking armor again would be fine. I voted dragon shout, because I assume absorbing Alduin's soul will do wonders to your character's power.

Not cheesy at all, really. If my craving for a good adventure has been sated, then I don't give a damn about a reward.

Can't it be both a reward in itself and have a tangible ingame reward?

I want a pet dragon to follow me around. Kind of like the Adoring Fan.

HAHAHAHA I like this idea :D
By Alduin by Alduin by Alduin! Its the DOVAHKIIN, the mighty champion that slaughtered my entire species! Shoe shine? Backrub?
I voted for a super strong dragon shout, just because it seems to make the most sense. After all, the game probably ends with you slaying Alduin, right? And since the dragonborn absorbs powers from the dragons he kills, shouldn't he get the best powers from the most powerful dragon as a reward?

I rewarded myself in Morrowind by modding out those cliff racers after I beat the game. Best decision in a video game I've ever made and I've never turned back.

Hm, probably the Empire.

I mean, you're the Dragonborn, right? And only a Dragonborn can light the Dragonfires and be the Emperor. So what I'm thinking is the PC will eventually go on to reunite the Empire under his rule, after he defeats Alduin.

But naw, probably just like a set of fancy- but not too good- armor. Or a castle of some sort.

I never liked being a hero in earlier TES games. I always imagined my character as an outcast wanderer who came, saved the day and then disappeared, so I can go back to my wandering without all the attention. None of this, "Hey, aren't you the hero from Kvatch?" sort of stuff. Like 'The Return of the King,' when the Hobbits went home, but nobody in Hobbiton knew what they had accomplished.

Unless it's a HUGE fortress with many side quests and dungeons below, and some really cool features, I'd much rather a dragonshout :) Battlethorn Castle and Frostcrag Spire were cool, but got boring real quick.
