Main story "bored"

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:23 pm

Do not read or answer if you have not played the side quests or the main quests.
possible spoilers for them.

Ahh yes, I need your help.

So i started by playing this game all the way through on hardcoe mode , because i didn′t want to play the game just on hardcoe i just rushed through the game just on hardcoe mode for the gold trophy.

But now that the story is done and i know everything that will happen.
So since i haven′t done any side quest i figured i would just finish all the side quests like i did in Fallout 3 but i am now helping the boomers.
I have met a big problem that it is just too boring to play it i mean helping 6 or more people around the airport with some boring ass quests like go in there and kill ants, in Fallout 3 i loved doing the story feeling the danger but hated fighting since the fighting is just plain boring.

Now my question is , is there any story in side quests , really interesting once like the Mutants that wanted to fly to space that was really cool.
Can some one point me to as fun quests as that quests that are really cool and are surprising not like that boring ass boomer quest please , just tell me the name of fun quests like the big ones you do in Fallout 3.

"I feel like going from cod 4 to cod5" i want to enjoy Fallout new vegas but i can′t with doing quests that have no cool moments or wow moments and are just action packed like a freaking FPS game !

Should i start my game again and wait with the main quests until till i have done everything else or just go on with my current save where i am half a hour from main quest completion.
Love this game don′t get me wrong.

Thank you in advance, Brunaland

Please don′t shut this down because some people would like to know the cool side quests.

Gonna do that and be a real [censored] to everyone.
But please appoint me to some quests that are fun and where the location is.

There's quite a lot of quests like that. Try "Nothin' But A Hound Dog", "How Little We Know", "Beyond The Beef" and "I Put A Spell On You".

Here's a http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki to the wiki if you need help finding the starting locations. Just type the name of the quest into the search bar and you're good to go.

#1 - there's a spoiler forum. (I wrote that just as the topic was moved, go figure, lol)
#2 - what's boring to some may be interesting to others, hard for me to say what you're going to like.

That said...if you haven't done them, the companions quests can be interesting. You have to get enough 'rep' points with them for them to trigger, tho, so for those I'd advise starting over, or at least loading a game from a lot earlier than "an hour from main completion."
I find the most interesting quests to either be ones that have moral dilemmas/a few different ways to solve them & the possible repercussions for which path you choose, and some of the ones that are more scripted in nature in terms of NPC's doing something at certain hours and you have to figure that out.

You could also try not using VATS as much as possible, if you're not already. I refuse to use VATS unless I absolutely have to in order to save my ass, and it makes combat a lot more....interesting.

That is some good input right there , thank you
Will be using all of this input and gonna go for a energy weapon class and taking your guys/girls advices.
Any input is accepted to maximize my game experience.

Find Vault 11. My favorite part of the game. Take it slow.

Definitely do the companion quests and search all the vaults. I found a lot of the littler faction quests to be quite good - Like The Kings, The Followers, and the various casino sidequests. Doing jobs for the Crimson Caravan is also quite fun imo.

Which is it, you're bored or you think there's too much fighting?

You specifically talk about the Boomers. Only ONE of those 4 or 5 guys has any fighting to it. So it's hard to see where the "just like an FPS" complaint is coming from.

you can always play again. there are 4 ways to do the MQ. you shouldve saved the hardcoe "quickie" playthrough for last like i am.

speaking of which, whats the shortest/fastest way to complete the MQ? i simply dont like hardcoe and wanna get the trophy and get it over with (stimpaks healing over time is the ONLY thing i like about hardcoe, i hate the micromanaging and the ammo weight.)
