Will the 5th Anniversary Edition support trophies?

I already have the GOTY year edition so I have done just about everything in the game in multiple playthroughs. The bonuses and discount with the purchase would only be worth it , to me, is if there is trophies. The trophies would give me something new to go for even though I probably already did them all. :P

I'll definitely be pre-ordering Skyrim, so a discount for it would be nice but not if this game is $30 with no new features(excluding the collector items and other bonus items).

I own Oblivion on PS3, 360 & now PC, and I've never thought that the PS3/PC versions of the game were missing something. I'm not really a trophy/achievement person (Although I do have a handful of plats...) though.

I voted "I don't care" :)

For me trophies or awards for a game kill the game in my humble view. For instance when I had the XBOX before selling it trying to get every achievement ruined most of the games for me. One game book stated if you were a true star wars fan (which I am) you should be able to unlock every award to call yourself a true fan. Personally I dont need a game to show how much of a fan of star wars I was... Played that game for about 2 hours and got sick off messages saying you unlocked this and that. To me it took away from the ability to roleplay a jedi... And when I played Oblivion on the XBOX those awards were a pain to me..... That was just one of the many reasons I sold off the XBOX.

So I vote Dont Care for the simple reason I know some people like those awards/achievements.

I've simple done just about everything in Oblivion; tried all races, all class types, every story mission, every side mission, completed the 2 DLCs for PS3, found the majority of items in the game, did a "good" reputation playthrough, "bad" reputation playthrough, and etc.

I'm just asking if there will or won't be trophies. I just want another challenge if I'm going to pay for a game I've already beat. If not, the $10 off the purchase of Skyrim and Strategy Guide isn't worth it to me. It is for those who have yet to do everything in Oblivion.

If you've done everything (Which I doubt!), you'd just be replaying what you've already done in order to acquire virtual trophies. I don't need that incentive to play the game again but I understand where you're coming from :)

Also, if trophies were added, it'd be added to all versions; not just the GotY version.

360 has Achievements, why can't the PS3 have trophies?

I would get a 360 copy but I'm sick and tired of Microsoft and the Xbox360. I've bought 4 Xbox360s in the past and all of them got the rings of death. Even if they released the Elite, I will never invest my money in Microsoft's consoles ever again. Plus, PSN is FREE!! :D

And its been five years, I could've did everything twice.....which I might do if I decide to get the new Edition

A question for those who play Oblivion on a console that awards trophies / achievements. Can they be disabled by those who do not like the concept and don't wish to participate?

Because the PS3 trophy system wasn't made compulsory for new games until 2009, 2 years after the PS3 release of Oblivion & 3 years after its release on the Xbox 360 & PC formats. All new games are required to have trophy support, but GotY editions released after the start of deadlines, more than likely don't.

I've not played the 360 version of Oblivion since 2006/2007. but as far as I'm aware, there is NO way to disable trophies/achievements on either console, on any game. You can't really play to avoid the trophies, as there's countless for each guild, as well as the main quest.
