Now, I'm not talking about the mission based battles at Hoover Dam and whatnot, I mean, are there any large scale battles between two factions out in the wasteland?


For example, in Fallout 3 there was a huge battle at the Capitol Building between a load of supermutants and Talon Mercs, that fought each other regardless of the player's involvement, and it was in no way related to the story.

Are there any like that out in the wasteland, between the NCR and the Legion, for example?

well not that I know of, but right before Ranger Station Charlie, I always come across a battle between 4 or 5 legion guys versus NCR troops. legion wins due to centurion.

The most I've ever seen is a Powder Ganger taking potshots at radscorpions. Oh, and the occasional skirmish between NCR and Fiends near McCarran. Nothing that could be described as a major battle, though.

There are squirmishes between the NCR and CL around Ranger Station Charlie, along with a merchant caravan that respawns from time to time. The caravan can be attacked by the Legion if they see each other. Also, some attacks going back and forth around Nelson. I can't remember any more. The attacks around Nelson are more like skirmeshes, than full blown assaults.

Those are the only ones I have run into.

I've seen some Legion vs. NCR gunfights just north-northwest of Broc Flower Cave. The Legion has a presence to the north, and the NCR sends out patrols from Camp Searchlight. These patrols swing around Broc Flower before they return to Searchlight. I've followed them back to Searchlight. It's usually 3-4 troopers vs. 1-3 Legion, but they don't always meet. The area to the north of Broc Flower usually has 7-8 Legionnaires in it total. There is a camp in there with four of them. (About halfway to Charlie). Biggest I've seen is 4 vs. 4.

Yes, when the Legion try to take the Dam. I have also seen some pretty big fights between fiends and NCR outside fort mccarren. A dozen or so fiends vs six or so NCR.
