Hello,

sadly a few days ago I encountered a major bug on the PS3 - ok, actually I encountered it 1 Month ago but did not recognize it as this week. But here is the full story:

I played the game about 290 hours in the last two and a half months now, encountered some minor bugs (cant buy house Hjerim in Windhelm, because the Quest blood on the Ice does not start for me for example and some other), did all optional Questlines (Dark brotherhood, Civil War and so on), built three houses with the hearthfire expansion, collected all stones of barenziah and so on.

Now finally I wanted to finish the game with my character to come to an end, and continued to play the Main Questline from the Quest "The horn of Jurgen Windrufer". So then, after a few more days of gameplay, I got to the throat of the world, talked to Paarthurnax. He sent me on a quest to get an Elder Scroll. I already had collected this scroll during a sidequest for the Mages Guild, so I tried to continue. He tells me to step to the Time Wound and read the scroll.

So I step into the light, open my inventory, go to the books section, open the scroll and... nothing happens.

First I thought m game has locked up, but I can "close" the blank screen again with "O"

I tried to fast travel to markath, read the scroll there - the same problem. Just nothing happens any more when I try to read the scroll.

I know it did work some time for me because of course I was curious and tried to read it - normally the screen blurrs out and you go deaf for some seconds. But now just nothing happens. Tried everything I could imagine now, waiting a few days ingame, fast travel from one location to another, deleting the Game Files and reinstalling it, deleting the patch files and start game without the 1.09 patch (savegames wont load), tried to load the savegame without the hearthfire expansion (all my custom houses are gone ), clearing my Charakter from every possible item i can drop (the scroll is marked as a quest item and cant be dropped), transforming myself into a werewolf, and so on. Nothing works.

So, I cannot finish the Main Questline, are unable to get the last shouts and therefore missing 3 Trophies... (2 from the main Quest and 1 for 20 shouts) - The trophy "Ancient knowledge" was awarded during the talk with Paarthunax as I have the Scroll already in my inventory.

So I searched through all my Savegames to try to find out when this Bug did occur. And the sad thing is that I found out that the last time the scroll was working as inteded was 100 (yes one hundred) hours of playtime ago. 2 RL days before I even installed Hearthfire for the first time, so don't blame the expansion.

Maybe I picked up some bugged items? This happend somewhere during the Questline for the dark brotherhood for example, where I found some "worn boots" and "worn armor" (?) which where magic, in the new hideout near Dawnstar (?) of the brotherhood, picked them up (they where laying on some shelf if i can remember correctly) but they never showed up in my inventory, they where just gone, but counted towards my carry weight - I checked this twice by loading a save shortly befor picking the items up. but this was long after the scroll stopped working. But maybe some bugged items have to do with this? If I strip my charakter naked and remove all possible items, it shows me that I have 6 points used from about 550 (high dex char) - but normally the scroll already weights in for 20 !?!

I figured out 2 savegames which are only about 4 hours of playtime in between, where the bug with the scroll occured. I cant exactly tell all the things I did at this time, but at least I know for sure I did the quest "The wolf queen awakened" as stated in my Questlog of the savegame where the scroll is not working for the first time.

Maybe I can send this 2 savegames somewhere to get them anolyzed for this major bug? I DO NOT want to loose 1 Month of playing skyrim.

And before you ask, yes, I can finish the main questline with the old savegame where the scroll is still working, but like I said, this is NOT an option.

So again, please let me send my savegames to the support to anolyze this strange bug! And sorry for my english, its not my mother language

Sadly, no. No one who had this bug could solve it other than loading an older savegame.

Like I said, the last savegame for me where the scroll is working as intended is from 100 hours of playtime ago.

P.S.: I am from Austria, not Germany

I can't figure it out either, if you have tried all this from wiki anyway. !!!!!
