3 Major Changes Needed Immediatly

Post » Sat Feb 26, 2011 6:33 pm

1. There needs to be a symbol or some way to identify bots in the game. It is my impression that a number of the servers are full of bots and with no way to identify which ones have bots it makes finding a good server extremely frustrating. A filter to exclude bots such as in ET: Pro would also be extremely helpful but not necessary. Could a symbol be added next to bots names on the scoreboard?

2. There needs to be a filter for full and empty games. One of these existed in both Quake Wars and ET. Why is it missing from this game.

3. There needs to be a way to save your filter choices so every time you open the search menu you do not have to put them back in.

These changes seem so obvious and existed in both other games, why were they not implemented in this one...

Do you really think Lopez, Emmanuel, and George are real people on the roster?

Since you are talking about servers and not P2P I'm going to assume that you are focusing on the PC iteration of the game. In fact, the game does let you know which characters are bots, albeit indirectly. If you press TAB in game, or access the menu, you can see who is a real person by looking for their lag indicator on the far right of their name. If there is a vertical bar = Real Life Person. No bar = Bot.

Using the above method, the last 3 severs I joined were populated almost entirely by bots. When joining the servers it shows the number of human players in game, but once you enter it is full of bots. Thus, if friends join they can not switch teams and seem also to get server full messages. In the previous games bots would be auto removed or switched to allow players to change teams or enter the server. This also seems to not be available in Brink.

I wish I could help you, but I have had several friends jump in and out of games seamlessly as long as there was a bot taking up a spot. In fact, the way you describe it is not the way SplashDamage designed it. Are you playing on servers that use the standard settings or Custom? Maybe someone who runs a server can answer whether the servers can be locked down to not let team jumping/bot switching.

I know on the x360 if you look at the scoreboard humans have a latency next to there name and bots don't plus they have a little msn like guy figure next to them.
