Major Companion Problem

Post » Tue Aug 16, 2011 6:50 am

Hello fellow Fallout enthusiasts. I was recently combing the Strip for Pushy (Veronica had it stolen by a casino) and I went back to the old Lucky 38 Suite and something perturbed me. I enter the suite and I see a hostile Veronica, who went on to kill Rex and Victor before going after me. After several reloads, this has always been the same result. Is there a way to make her unhostile (on PS3)?

Though things aren't that simple. After putting her down on one of the reloads, I noticed something perplexing. The last time I went to the suite, Raul, Cass, and ED-E were lounging and enjoying free room service. This time though, they were nowhere to be found. Poof! Gone. Invisible. No corpses. No failed quests. They were simply missing. Now tomorrow I'll go out to the companion houses, but I am absolutely certain that Cass was in the suite before.

Can someone please help? Even shedding some light on the situation would help. Thanks for reading, and I hope that you can help solve my problem. :sadvaultboy:

Did you destroy the BoS by any chance.

But then again she wouldn't be in the Lucky 38 to greet you to dead friends.

hmm interesting bug

If your on PS3 (i'm on 360) you have the level cap bug as well... i think there are a lot of problems with the new patch on PS3. Do you have a old save? If you do, let all your companions go to their homes.

I'm looking at the wiki for herand this might be what happened ?

"If you equip Brotherhood of Steel power armor inside Hidden Valley while Veronica is a follower, even if you are a "member" of the Brotherhood of Steel, Veronica will react as if you have killed Brotherhood of Steel members, then repeatedly keep talking to you and saying "What?", every 3-8 seconds. Turning off your console or restarting solves the problem."

Or

"Sometimes when equipping Brotherhood Power Armor even outside of Hidden Valley, Veronica will become angered and accuse you of fighting the Brotherhood."

Wow, that might be the reason why she is hostile. I went to Dead Wind Cavern (hopefully not too far back) and I briefly wore a Brotherhood T-45b Armor that was lying next to Mercy. That makes perfect sense. Thanks, I'll try it out right now. :foodndrink:

Update: It didn't work. I merely picked up the suit and didn't even wear it, then I hightailed it back to the Lucky 38 and she was still hostile. I wonder if even picking up the suit causes this. Or maybe I did something too far back, or this may be something else entirely.

I don't know what could be the cause with this since

You haven't killed the BoS,
Wore the BoS faction armour,
Wore BoS faction armour in the Valley
And I play Xbox and haven't came across this

Are you by any chance wearing NCR, Legion, Khans or some other faction armour ?
Maybe...came across Arcade and helped him and his quest (speculating here) ?

Well, it looks like I'm going to be pulling an all-nighter for this one. I'll try loading up my oldest (out of 8) saves, wearing the armor, recruit Cass and take her with me (assuming I can find her), and anything else I can think of. After that, I think I may have to see goodbye to Veronica. Thanks for all the help. :sadvaultboy:

Try posting this in the PS3 software issues section, ask a Mod to move it across since that section would provide more help and good luck
