What are you, retarded?

Virtually none of these count as "plot holes"

Also, the Aliens couldn't fly in C1 and cold weapons are still in the game

the rest are just questions you have, not holes

Image

a lot of plot holes..(imo) lol

where's cold weapon ???
I saw only microwave beam ???

If it's been said before, 2l2r 5p wtf.

but here it is:

it's been 20 years or something since c1. you saw all the factories inside the alien hub last time it's very likely that they changed their designs because the new situation on earth was easier to master with an infantry of humanoid exoskeletons because it's tough to navigate the interior of human architecture with giant squids. yes, there were also the small squids, but those were a joke. the new models fit through doors and are able to follow humans while being armored.

The colour change. In C1 they were bluish to reflect their cold nature, and their mechanic: they absorbed energy from their surroundings to charge their batteries. why did they change colour? possibly because they left their charge cycle and are now 'idle,' slowly expending heat and energy. Also because in C1 they came up with some jamming thing that caused them to overcharge and self destruct. if they don't charge anymore, they can't overcharge. so the colour change (with the mechanism change) is sirvival adaption.

furthermore, they no longer need to absorb energy: as you see in that one mission where the ship crashed, the aliens are now using some symbiotic method with human tissue to power their ship instead of taking entropic energy out of the environment.

well nanosuit 2 looks different from nanosuit 1. that's kind of obvious. Nanosuit 1 sort of looked like a skinned human, and nanosuit has a couple of additional layerts of nanostring 'muscles', which causes you to be a little more powerful, have a little more passive armor, and possibly store more biological agents to catalyze the symbiosis. furthermore, the standards of design and fashion have advanced, and the N2 reflects that. I personally like the little details that have been added in N2. about the guns: they 'may' look bigger because alcatraz holds them closer to his face at all times (because he's a marine) while nomad and psycho actually 'fire from the hip' when they 'fire from the hip'.

again, one reason why aliens walk now is because they are heavier (more armor), and would thus require more energy which they can no longer aquire through freeze ray because of overcharge jamming. their humanoid structures could be explained by the fact that they have to be able to get around human architecture, which has been designed for a humanoid.

no cold weapons because of overcharge jamming.

tentacles drills and spores: new alien tech. humans made progress, and so did the aliens.

about the KPA suits, that's left to be explained. possibly hargreave wanted to test how effective the nanosuit is by pitting numbers against tactics. but yes, N1s were symbiotic aswell, Hargreave explains that and that's the reason why Prophed went ****, off the radar, against hargreave and that's why Lockheart wants to kill him so bad.

hargreave does speak of lingshan. if you pick up the correspondence emails and read them, it turns out that Hargreave started everything by unearthing the alien base and bringing back alien tech samples. the Koreans eventually found his digsites, and Hargreave informed the allied forces about it, that's how the lingshan operation came about. It's possible that KPA scientists created their own nanosuits with the tech they uncovered themselves.

Well psycho probably got pulled off the detail after having his identity crisis in C1Wh. Again, the only reason Prophet is here is because he is hargreave's agent. nomad and psycho didn't have anything to do with that. they were his backup on lingshan and got the nanosuit from hargreave because they happened to be in his squad.

And if you play crysis warhead, it's more or less about the KPA and the Allies engaged in a tug 'o war about a sealed container that contains an alien fighter ship that didn't self destruct. so that's how they were able to reverse engineer their tech.

the whole self destruction thing probably got started after hargreave nosed around their laid and stole their ****. they added an explosive charge to prevent more people from doing what he did, but again, in some cases it failed and that's how people continued their research.

in C2 they didn't self destruct possibly because all the tech was already either stolen by hargreave, or because some of the tech was in fact human that they themself salvaged from human wrecks. because they are running out of resources (and that might be why they invade the surface)

so yeah dude, i suggest you play C1Wh, and collect all the email correspondence in C2sp.

um it was only 3 years between crysis 1 and crysis 2 not 20 years. and you just proved a point. The ceph sure work fast if they can retool all there manufacturing and army for new dumbed down equipment in just 3 years.

Furthermore what would you need with smaller equipment anyway if your greatest weapon was biological germ warfare. Did the ceph plan on just moving into condos in upper manhattan :p

three or four hunters could have easily wiped out new york. The equipment cell and the marines had would have been no challenge for 3 or 4 hunters.

Most militaries build more advance weapons then the previous weapons but the ceph actually went backwards and made inferior weaponry. THe only way the story would make since would be if the ceph were losing and the biological weapons and the inferior equipment were last ditch efforts on there part

well, they were losing. again, that one chick developed a jammer which caused them to overload and self destruct. that's why they went back in their tech. I'm guessing that the ceph infantry you fight most are infact just those naked guys you saw floating around in the alien base covered in armor plates, possibly three inch steel plates salvaged from the aircraft carriers that got caught in the freeze radius.

lol @ "bulkier suit means you are stronger!" but it takes 100% of suit energy to throw anything, 100% of suit energy to kick a car further than a few cm and the jump height is much shorter.

Anyone notice how damn easy the Ceph in C2 wiped out that Cell squad at the first spear? The marines in C1 had Gauss against great big lumbering flying machines.

Which is a harder target?

That does raise the question though of why the hell does only Lockhart have the Gauss...

I still find it hard to believe that an entire species can devolve that much in 3 years. Besides, in Crysis 1 didn't the aliens like crash land there millions of years ago and have their space ship thing pointing towards their home (when the planet revolves to that point) calling for help? There weren't like the locust in Gears of War being underground since before humans were around. And why the **** would they have drop ships if they come from underground? I mean they would be better with big ass drills digging through the **** earth, or doing what the locust did in GoW and try and make cities fall by digging under them. And you would have though those pillar things that they stick through the ground should already be primed and ready to kill everyone with that spore thing as soon as they go up, meaning you wouldn't have a chance. Honestly, if those alien things have been living underground all those years you would have expected them to have the common sense to make their world domination plan fullproof.

apparently they were hibernating and hargreave stirred them up about 50 years ago or something. then they suffered major losses in C1 because all their tech suddenly became useless and obsolete, and they had to redo everything, which is why they're so primitive and unorganized now.

It's a reboot. Think of it as a game where some of the characters happen to have familiar names, not a sequel, and you'll get the idea.

Dont stress bru. For a few extra dollors you can start paying EA for the comics that will explain the story gap between C1 and C2.
Alternativly you can go support someone like Valve who supplied comics like that, for free to fill in gaps.

Or well, you can keep supporting the monster raping you. Your choice.

I have the answers:)

1-Flying=Resource effective. They still fly, but in rather more ship like structures as opposed to squid. Remember, the squid structures in the last game were actually aliens in machines and the machines were VERYYYYY energy hungry.

2-They sent signals out. It was just a mere claim and rather more of a theory Helena had that she thought was happening. For all we know, it could be false, and as it is, the enemy is Ceph on earth. Aliens in space to come....yeah it'll take a long time. Even if the signals were sent for help, those aliens in space won't come immediately, they are not the problem at matter. AND remember, Lingshan was a bit of a hush-hush operation.

3-It's the nanosuit 2....-_-" Emphasize on the "2"

4-Newer, bigger weapons are necessary for the war against Ceph. The masculine size is probably because Alcatraz is just buff. Orrrrr, it could actually be that speed and strength are combined and streamlined into a power mode. The streamline allows for constant maximum speed and strength, thus, suit is buff.

5-Evolution. Flying, again, was resource effective. And actually, when the armada of aliens in the first game was unleashed, if you read multiplayer descriptions of map names in the crysis multiplayer, it tells you what happens to those aliens. That alien armada traveled the world and was defeated by MERE humans. In addition, in Crysis 2, we fight the aliens THEMSELVES, not in a machine. In the first game, we were basically fighting aliens in war machines. In Crysis 2, they come out in more mass numbers ON THEIR FEET. It's like instead of sending ships, the Ceph sent out foot soldiers.

6-Evolution; Also, ice weapons requried huge amounts of energy and energy is very limited (due to many humans using energy) to appeal to the aliens if they want to do a mass invasion. Plus, when they evolved they evolved to warm standards

7-The drills, or spikes that I assume you are talking about, are what releases the spores. The spores are part of the invasion, to wipe out the population. They are infective against humans and kills them. Aliens take samples from dead bodies it seems and that's how they manage to make sure the spore works and will continue to work against humans. Simple.

8-KPA had cheap knockoffs. And Crysis 1 had nanosuits with the purpose of being host dependant the whole time. Did you NOT forget the big Hargreave conspiracy? How he tricked Special Operations into using the nanosuit program just to see how symbiosis works and the effects when encountering aliens? I shouldn't even need to answer this question, did you PLAY Crysis 2 and pay attention?

9-Loads happened? They discovered aliens. End of story. Anything about Lingshan that needed to be known was in Prophet's mind about the aliens which he told Gould and Alcatraz anyways. Lingshan was mentioned several times in Crysis 2 BUT again, it's a hush-hush incident. PLUS, it's not like let's say, Strickland or Lockheart is gonna obsess about the incident. What happened has happened, they know how to do and have to deal with the aliens CURRENTLY at hand. They can talk about the past later.

10-Psycho and Nomad both died. Prophet was the ONLY one to stay alive. Why do you think he was mad at Hargreave? That's one of the main reasons he hated the nanosuit program trick Hargreave pulled on him; his whole squad died.

no plotholes really.....play Crysis 2 again, play with subtitles, and pay attention.
I disagree.

1. Doesn't make sense. How do you know how much power they constantly required to run? I'd probably say very little as they managed to fly around for the entire game without any direct power sources.

2. You're saying "I guess she and the entire fleet was wrong because the sequel doesn't address it."

3. Emphasis on the Nanosuit and the 2.0. Why is it a downgrade? Why is it ridiculously bulky?

4. The new design is because "oooo tatz zo cool!!!!" Prophet wearing the suit makes him look super buff. He looked normal in the first game. "The streamline allows for constant maximum speed and strength, thus, suit is buff." Really?

5. Yes, the natural evolution in 3 years is to go from walking to flying when you're trying to conquer the world.

6. Ice weapons required huge amounts of energy. Says who? The one Prophet got a hold of had unlimited ammo and was self recharging.

8. Doesn't make sense in relation to the original question.

9. It seems the guys defending it without thought are like "Oh, man, there was an original story where loads happened, but it happened so we don't need to reference it or talk about it or give any answers." At the same time they're like "bringing the game to consoles, the new players need to know what happened so they don't feel like they just jumped into the middle of a story."

Now everyone feels like they've jumped into the middle of a story because it makes no sense.

10. Proof they died? A one second shot of Pyscho's face in Pyscho's cutscene isn't anything, especially when he has no idea of the whole story. AFAIK we can only assume the guys that actually died in the first game died. As far as Prophet knows and we know, the last he saw of Nomad and Psycho was on the USS Constitution which was destroyed.

I dislike coming into this thread with so much stupidity popping out of nowhere. It started at this guys post. If you're going to call something a plot hole. It can't be a question or in the form of a question. That by definition means you're asking something. Even if it's rhetorical, you're still failing to type HOW it's a plot hole. You're telling us to use our brains and connect the dots. That's the nature of a rhetorical question. When that's what you need to do to discover the plot, it's a total contradiction.

Now we have to answer a bunch of POINTLESS and stupid questions as if we were in a religious debate. Instead of people understanding the turn of events. They're going to argue their stupid logic and how the stories logic is wrong. Even when it's glaringly obvious...

You disagree, okay sure. Why?

1. You're asking for the EXACT amount of energy it requires to run? That's why you disagree? You didn't see any direct link to the flying machines and resources so it didn't happen, right? WRONG! It was stated several times that it takes a lot of power to fuel the Ceph. That includes there flying operations. It isn't declared untrue just because you don't see a visible "connection." That's almost as stupid as them reminding you time and again how resource effective the Ceph are, just in case.

2. He's wrong about this one but it's very clear what is going on. The second game is a sequel and a standalone at the same time. So bringing it up would be confusing and stupid. They will most likely reference it and show the result in the next game. Because now it reaches to all platforms. They don't need a standalone version anymore.

3. How is it a downgrade? Why is ridiculously bulky a reason why what he said not true? Oh, that's right, it isn't.

4. Firstly.. why the **** am I proving the suit size to not be a plot hole? Secondly... It's obvious it was upgraded. Why does it have to look identical? IT DOESN'T! It's an UPGRADE.

5. HUMAN or EARTH natural evolution is not the same as CEPH natural evolution. He's referring to adapting to the battle conditions. It's an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT LOCATION! There doesn't need to be the same aliens attacking everywhere. They are obviously intelligent enough to realize it's more efficient to use foot soldiers. They are fighting in an urban environment again the US army. Not just a few squads of soldiers. The army. Flying squids were weak to high fire-rate weapons. Why would they fly around tons of humvees, atts, helicopters, and tanks? They all have .50 cal machine guns and gatling guns. They wouldn't. Especially when it's their weakness. They wouldn't.

6. They had an endless supply of AMMO. Not energy. The MOAC transforms the air into a weapon. It isn't just a simple anolog rifle using gunpowder. How did you not realize that? Why did you even have to ask? "Herrderr I had an unlimited ammo gun!" Really?

7. You skipped

8. It makes total sense in relation to the question. He was explaining how the KPA got suits. The first question was how did they attain suits.

9. Hey you just explained logical reasoning as to why it's not a plot hole. If you're trying to sarcastically mock crystal clear logic, you're an idiot.

10. So you're just stating that it's not possible they're dead. Then rambling in defense saying it's an unknown unknown. Then you say the last time we saw them was on the ship that was destroyed. Even though, the rest of the world. Saw the clip where Prophet is revealing everything as well as Hargreave. They were.. Post-human warriors. So in all likelyhood, they are dead. It is possible that they're alive. The big question is.. Why does this matter? Answer: It doesn't. Crysis 2 is an end and a beginning to Prophet's story.

I think that the contingency is ridiculous at best.
Why are the mechanical, power charged aliens of the first one that react with the suit (Practically a cure already) have become little fleshy humanoids dressed in silver?
And yeah, I really want to know what happened to Helana, Nomad and Psycho- surely they come help... but I guess they're on a holiday cruise?
It's so annoying- in Crysis the aliens are testing earth, readying themselves for complete annihilation of the human race and yet in C2 they send out a **** virus in one city....... /sigh
The real question is. Why do you make people repeat themselves when it's been posted over and over? It's almost as if, the story would've had to tell you directly. No using one bit of logical thought yourself.

You can clearly see they are small squids being supported by suits. Not human-like at all by nature. The suit + them just resembles human stature. They are foot soldiers. Meant to invade New York. Why would it be an invasion of flying squids that are probably more difficult to make, more expensive to run, and ineffective in the urban environment? It wouldn't. So they invade with infantry. This is just common thought processes. All invasions are done with infantry.

They probably dead, Prophet makes it crystal clear what Hargreave intended to do. He was using them to test the Ceph's symbiosis and technology. They were POST-human warriors. Also Hargreave made it clear he was going to wear the suit. So he obviously didn't expect them to live. The suit was the ONLY hope.

In any story you're supposed to infer things.

Your point about the virus is mute. It isn't even a point. Thanks for reminding me what the aliens did, though. Even as humans our greatest fears are bio weapons.

My main gripe: It is IMPOSSIBLE to hide a nuclear strike. Completely impossible.

I think the changed Aliens could be because they originate from a different home structure. In Crysis, it was a giant bulky mountain, in Crysis 2 its a series of Spires, with a giant one in Central Park. I assume that every alien type is different per location, so in Crysis 3, they are different to the others. They won't be, because Crytek require us to fill the plotholes with No More Nails ourselves.

The alien spores are an easier way of killing the population. Why shoot them all and waste ammo when you can just infect them all and have them be turned to mush in an instant?

Nanosuit 2 doesn't actually look THAT different to Prophet's Nanosuit from the original. Besides, its upgraded.

Sykes was actually in the game (though only in flashbacks). From what I can tell, everyone who was aboard that VTOL at the end of Crysis, died in the Dyson Sphere (I know its not a Dyson Sphere, but i like that name, so sod off :P).

The KPA got them not knowing what they were dealing with.

They sent a signal? Maybe the Spires of NYC reacted to a signal sent from M33 in reply. I dunno, i don't remember that bit xD

Oh, and I predict that, in a year, Crytek will release Crysis 2: Dome (or something of that nature). Much like Warhead, it'll be optimized, and look better than Crysis 2. It will be set inside the Dyson Sphere from Crysis, and tell of how Sykes and Nomad were killed (or not).

Yeah cause its so much easier to make a biological warfare agent that takes several seconds/minutes/days to kill, instead of freezing everything to death in an instant...

Nah that will be explained in the comic that will come in june, but your probably right, they just gona kill off everyone else from crysis 1 to just make the plot of crysis 2 fit... just look what they have done in the first few minutes of the game... they killed prophet the only last big link to the old crysis stroy...

The alien spores are an easier way of killing the population. Why shoot them all and waste ammo when you can just infect them all and have them be turned to mush in an instant?

That would make sense if the Ceph were pointlessly killing inhabitants of a planet. They want it for resources. If you played both games. That would be clear to you. It is exponentially more efficient to use a bio weapon that only harms living being regardless. As you can see, the humans can put up a fight. Why endanger more Ceph when they can let their own disease destroy the humans without doing so?
