Ok so I had to snap a pic and share this as it's just too strange to keep to myself. I was walking back to Whiterun the other day and noticed this scene outside the city walls, near the stables:

Here's the names of all the dead and defiled characters that I found: Jervar, Ardwen, Atabah, Khayla, Ma'randr-jo, Skulvar and a dog. They were all murdered, stripped and face down on the ground. For starters, I thought that people couldn't get killed unless the player was in the same cell but there was no action when i neared Whiterun. I assumed it must've been a vamp attack but they usually attack at night and only 2-3 vamps at a time, doubtful that they could kill all those NPCs without getting killed themselves but there wasn't a single vamp corpse anywhere. Lastly there's the issue of them all being stripped and placed face down which is what really made me go "huh, WTF?"

Does anyone have any thoughts of how/why this happened? This was my first time walking back to Whiterun post 1.9 patch, did they sneak a weird encounter into the patch or something?


Also I'd like to note that the carriage driver was alive and well which made him seem very suspicious...I haven't rode a carriage since

You sure you didn't kill them at one point?

Heimskr went mad and slaughtered them. hes the only weirdo in Whiterun.

Could be related to a quest, what dlc's have you got downloaded? have you tried googling those names?

The only quests that khajiit caravans are connected to are one main quest (kill the Thalmor spy Khajiit), a Thieve's guild side quest (restoring the thieve's guild) and the one where you get Kharjo as a follower.

Being stripped of clothes happens sometimes. For me it happens usually if I kill someone, go to an indoor cell and return to the big world. When I go to the body they have no clothes (they are in the inventory, but not worn).

I would say that it's a vampire attack but the vampires were either lured elsewhere or they simply de-spawned when you were not looking (just like dead vampires de-spawn after a while).

ha yes I'm sure, even if I did kill them then I wouldn't strip them and place them all face down. Besides, the character I was playing with doesn't go on murder sprees so it definitely wasn't my handiwork
he's a preaching prophet, he would never leave Talos long enough to do that
I have downloaded and beat all DLC's so there's no more random cultists or anything and I did have to google the names as a few of them I never heard of before this scene. One of them is normally found in a different part of the map which adds to the mystery
