Can you not just make armor in this game? I've got two points in Armorer now and all I can still do is just upgrade pieces that I find, which so far are just leather armor and raider crap. I would like some decent Combat armor since I'm role-playing a vet, but I can't find that stuff anywhere and can't seem to find the option to make it.

It's just like the weapon system, so no. You can't make armor.

Slightly annoying, but I think it would make the vanilla game way OP if you could forge stuff at this point. Maybe in an update once they have more data on game balance, and certainly mods may do it.

But given how relatively easy it is to gather resources, IF you could fashion new pieces of armor and weapons, it might well make the game too easy.

I agree with the choice of not being able to make it yourself, that kind of ruined Skyrim for me.

If you need a set, try checking out Gunner spawns, they're usually a good source of combat armour.

Combat armor is layer armor too, so is a combo of the military base armor, and the combat armor layers
