[REQ] Make Dark Elves looks younger.

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 3:08 am

Seriously, I'm finding it impossible to create a Dunmer (male) that doesn't look like he's in his fifties. Could someone please do some mod-magic (texture editing, I presume) to make the Dunmer facial texture look less wrinkly? Thanks a bunch!

I second this request. I know they're supposed to be back to the more gnarled and worn MW dunmer, but I grew to love the OB dunmer and I'd like to ability to create a young-looking character as well. :)

You waited 2 hours to bump a thread? There are about 120 mods up on the Nexus, look them up and you will find that there have been fixes for a variety of player character related nit picks. If they dont suit your fancy then wait a little while and one will pop up eventually. Beautification mods are usually the first type of mods created because you do not need a CS to implement new textures or meshes. There's your fix....

I find this hard to believe, mine looks under 30 easily. I was pleasantly surpirsed how good mine looks. I don't currently have a screenie otherwise I would post it.

Please post a shot. I've twice edited my dunmer's face, and I still feel he's a bit on the older side. And especially now I want him to have a kind of "fledgling" look because storywise he's the son of my Oblivion character!

Isn't Skyrim, storywise, set 200 years after Oblivion? Oh well...

A noble attempt at being continuity nut but I do believe that Dark Elves and the elven races in general have a much longer life cycle. I thought one of the Dark Elves in Oblivion even mentioned that she was about 200 years old. In this case it would be quite possible that his character from Oblivion is still alive.

I see, I wasn't sure that was the case in the Elder Scrolls, but even if it wasn't dun let me stop you from doing it however you want. =)

Yes, I knew Skyrim happens 200 years after Oblivion and that was the thing that gave me the idea in the first place, sort of assuming that Elder Scrolls elves also live more than 150 years. And yes, that means that my Oblivion character could technically still be alive, but hey, even if he was alive, he could have a son anyway! Wow! :D

Using my Oblivion dunmer crossed my mind, but when I saw the face models in Skyrim, I thought they looked way too different (even though it's the same race, just a different graphical interpretation) to reflect the same character's personality.

Elves have natural lifespans of around 200 years, IIRC. Magic-users can frequently extend their lifespans, and elves are frequently magic users, which leads to some elven mages being very old. The Telvanni in particular (considering their general lack of reservation about necromancy) lived very long lives. Baladas Demnevanni and Divayth Fyr were each around 1,000 IIRC.

I thought the lifespan of Elves was 1000 years, but most only lived to about 200? I found this in the Real Barenziah: "Katisha's face briefly wore the envious, wistful look humans got when contemplating the thousand-year lifespan Elves had been granted by the gods. True, few ever actually lived that long as disease and violence took their respective tolls. But they could. And one or two of them actually did."
