Make Fallout 4 more like Fallout New Vegas

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 12:19 pm

IMO the south->east->north route to Vegas is the second tutorial in FNV. To introduce you to the factions etc. The first tutorial being talking to Sunny Smiles.

But as several people have already stated, there are several paths north->east leading straight to Vegas. Some are easy, some are pretty difficult.

Oh and invisible walls? I haven't had much trouble with them in either F3 or FNV. Just a few times on top of rubble piles or hilltops.

Anyway my preference would be for F4 to be closer to FNV, but it will probably be closer to F3. As long as it moves in the direction of FNV I will be satisfied. Mostly.

not every body learns things the same way or at the same speed as other people and some people have serous learning disability that make it harder to learn or do certain task. And sometimes people are just missing a certain part of the puzzle and that video can show them and then they'll go ooooooohhh I see!

I'm usually mid level before I even get to Benny. I do Honest Hearts just before entering Vegas.

I just restarted NV the other day as I said I would earlier in the thread. So! Very different from 3. First off I noticed that I have to be WAYYYYY more careful how I pick perks, this is a good thing as it makes me pause and think about my character and play style. I tend to speak little and shoot a lot. The perks themselves always have a trade off, again making me think.

I choose to not follow the suggested storyline, but did travel the suggested route to get to New Vegas and made it safely. My PC helped the folks of Goodsprings since they helped him, then decided he would go work for the Crimson Caravan since being a Courier didn't work out so hot. After a few small jobs for them, and not being able to convince Cass to sell, PC went back to NV and to Fort McCarran to check out the Vault 22 since it was the only job offered.

Once he did that he had plenty of caps so he headed into the Strip where he meets Mr House and learns a few things. He then decides that if Benny is around, it might be a good time to go and deal with him.

Now gameplay wise I find NV harder to play, and 3 is easy, almost too easy. I would like it if NV were a little easier as I just am not a very talented gamer. So I am hoping for something in between the two as far as that goes, but better storyline like NV and the freedom that allows me as a role-player.

That's what I said the first time I linked it and realized the comments were actually thanking it rather than mocking it.

Here's a gem:

And in the late 90's, we had Riven.

*If that's not a candidate for an HD remake using realtime 3D engine ~with comparable visuals; then I don't know what is.
[But I bet if it was a different company that made it, that they would simplify all the puzzles ~excessively.]

I think he's mostly right there (mostly because... well, we've laughed at the Skyrim pillar puzzle video, so yeah). It's more a message to the developers to start putting stuff back in their games that might require something of the playerbase who's been slowly but firmly been getting used to the awesomebutton that solves everything and easy answers.

I'm sorry, I'm just going to flat out call bull there. All of those people that commented on that video, and praised the uploader for his valiant effort at matching pictures, surely don't all have a learning disability. It's matching pictures. It's is the same quality of puzzles you can find in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8jZX-70LoM.

Hopefully they were all Draugrs playing the game if they honestly couldn't figure that puzzle out.

Yes, unlike Beth, Obsidian didn't cut or dumb anything down. All they did was add more mechanics, features, and content.
