Make hunting/gathering more interesting

In real life, hunting and gathering (often done simultaneously) is a very gambling-like activity. Sometimes you are lucky and find the animal you want. Sometimes you are very lucky and find an animal or plant that is very precious, or you find an animal whose hide is very well formed and worth a lot of money. Of course, most of times you are just empty-handed or only get mediocre stuff.

I think if they want to make hunting a valuable activity in Skyrim, they should implement the "chance" system where you always have a chance to come across valuable preys or body parts from a certain prey or plant.

When I played STALKER game, before they decide to take out the mutant body parts, I was actively looking for mutants and killed them for their body parts, that's because not every mutant has collectible body parts, and they worth a lot of money once you find one. I think this should inspire the hunting system in Skyrim.

In Oblivion, you find valuable body parts very often in animals and they worth very little money, and all body parts worth the same without difference in grade.

it would be nice if there were signs and tracks of animals. which I realize is hard to do graphically. So just a text describing whatnot in a general direction based of a skill woudl be nice.

also there should be various type of demands across the map. for example. you can sell fur at a better price in cold places, and you can sell mammoth's teeth (like ivy) better at wealthier districts.

lul wut?

As long as there are animals, there is hunting. I loved hunting in Morrowind. In fact, I made a hunter character who traveled to Solsthiem as soon as possible (I was something like level 5 when I arrived). It was very difficult because I was quite a bit lower than all of them. I would kill wolves and bears and collect their pelts and sell them for good money (I took mercantile). It was a lot of fun, and it was difficult surviving in the harsh north at such a low level.

If they took a hint from Red Dead Redemption the hunting could be very enjoyable/immersive.
That game had one of the best natural economies I've ever seen.
