Make outfit options affect character stats for additional cu

So I was thinking, some people are disappointed by the customization, saying it's really not anything new at all. I was kind of feeling the same way. I can look a little different, but it really doesn't mean anything, just little cosmetic changes.

Well what if they didn't have to be just cosmetic changes, but actually have an affect on your character?

Like if you are security and you chose The Tank, you actually have a little more health, maybe just as a buff like that, or maybe coupled with a nerf like slower movement speed(health boost would have to be significant then). Maybe even things like the tattoos and face paint affecting you as well. I think maybe the skin color should stay out of bonuses and penalties to be safe.

Possible buffs could be movement speed, scaling and climbing speed, health, health regeneration speed, max ammo loadout, etc.

In addition it'd be nice if the attachments had a more significant effect. They don't seem to make as much of a difference as I'd like, but maybe that's just me.

Actual numbers for the weapon and attachment stats would be lovely, but since pretty much no other game has done that, it's not expected here. Still it'd be a novel idea, without being game changing, that would be appreciated, much like how you actually let me customize my controller buttons unlike most games on the xbox 360.

Thanks for the game, enjoying it so far, but with some more tweaks and patches I think it can really blow us all away.

EDIT: If you don't like the sound of this, would you give a reason why?

Sounds like it'd turn into an RPG. And we would probably have all the Ops wearing the same gear, all the soldiers, ect.

I figured it'd open more options as to how you would like to play a different body type. It wouldn't need to be unbalanced, just like the different body types aren't unbalanced. If you're willing to move slower and not jump as high, you play heavy so you can survive longer or use different guns. If you like the idea of being fast but are willing to be weaker you choose light. This would work within that concept.

A light that would still have the speed and jumping ability, but with more health than usual. Or maybe that same light, but with a couple extra magazines of ammunition. It wouldn't even have to be stuck to one ability or perk, it could be lesser amounts of multiple addons. One extra magazine and some extra climbing ability. A heavy that moves a bit faster and has a little more health.

I figured it would be one more bonus to look forward to, in addition to the leveling up your character and picking skills, and completing challenges for weapons and attachments. Then you'd also have outfit/customization choices for one more power up.

Ever play Soul Calibur 4? Yeah, not the same genre but the same concept in customization. In the end, you had players dressing (horribly) in a way for maximum stat boosts. I don't want that in Brink. I want someone to look the way they do because they like the way they look.

EDIT: What would be worth asking for is more skills based on these ideas, but that might throw off balance.

No but I would like to see more archetypes along with other articles of clothing to unlock that aren't tied to any archetype. Where's that hood for the eel BTW.

I don't like that idea. After awhile, everyone's character's would look the same because everyone would wear the gear with the best stats. That kind of kills the whole point of customization.
