Make stealth less effective in C3 MP

Post » Tue Dec 04, 2012 11:47 am

Luckily, strength and speed will be separated, no?

If so, it means you wont be able to supersprint while cloaked, this is already a huge step in the right direction. It's meant to give you options, not to make you a noobfarming device.

Well I hope those reports are true, but if the HUD in the recent trailer is anything to go by, then the suit modes are still: Armour, Power, Cloak. Fingers crossed it changes and there is a separate speed mode

i played crysis, crysis warhead and crysis 2. yeah right, i didnt play crysis wars much. but what do u mean owerpowered? either with me is something wrong or its true that if i say i get killed by shots faster in stealth then if i am not in stealth and not armour. and stealthed palyers can be seen good enough. anyways, with u dont have stealth enhanche then you feel the difference of duration of stealth. and ok, tell me the differences between stealth in c1 and c2? maybe i wil change my statement.

So you mean you've never played Crysis 1? Figures.

Everything else is okay to me about stealth, except the fact that you can jump around with it in MP, and it doesn't really even take a lot of energy, even without SE. It's annoying to end up in a situation, where you are bouncing around with an enemy, with both having cloak on. Also the Nanovision is insanely underpowered. I think that it's easier to see cloaked enemies without it.

The only two things that needed to be done for stealth to be truly balanced is... Nanovison receive a buff to 30-45 meters and looks like it did in demo(the demo did not have blind spot which would have stopped the stupid NV nerf because it counter it.) and also the cloak tracker work 24/7 at level three. BAM cloak totaly useless if you find it annoying and want to give up a module slot for countering it..

Maybe a short duration super buffed Nanovision? I like what they did in Prototype 2.

NO. Bring it back to demo levels and let all the blind spot users counter NV noobs. The demo failed by not allow us to have blindspot III. Really its the counter to NV and visor enhanced. Cloak already is darn useful the idea is you have the risk of running into NV user with Visor enhanced or Cloak Tracker user who eats cloakers for breakfast.

It's all a matter of perspective.

You can see it as calling for a nerf to cloak, or you can see it as wanting to bring cloak back in line with other suit modes as it was in the previous crysis games. Cloak got a huge buff going into Crysis 2, while the other modes were arguably nerfed, at least armour and speed were.

Fans of C2 cloak say how important cloak is to the crysis franchise (which it is), but running around the map in MP in cloak 90% of the time is no more 'crysis' than having no cloak at all, IMO

Sense... you make too much of it. I agree with your end conclusion but I see a slightly different way of getting there. From my experience from playing the demo to the transition of the Crysis 2 retail version, cloak's balanced was completely destroyed. I distinctively remembered the reason why it pendulum was tipped in cloak's favor was because of the easy hit detection from transition of demo to the retail version. Crytek cranked up the aim assist BIG TIME from between both iterations of the Crysis 2 versions. Do you think majority of players would use stealth enhance if they didn't have the aiming capabilites to lead and anticipate a target without having the game's aim assist instantly locking on target to kill them?

Cloak was abused wasn't because of module imbalance, it was because the aim assist. If hitting the target was so abundantly easy to where a new player can kill as effectively as a seasoned player, the best thing to do is make sure you aren't seen(CLOAK) so the other player won't instant lock on you and/or so you can get the drop on the other player.

The modules and everything were perfectly balanced in the demo. What kept everything in balanced in the demo was the player's ability to aim efficiently. A player could play the ghost route and do the Casper role, but he better having the aiming capabilities to drop the target because if he misses, his energy levels will already be drained significantly from running around in stealth. The demo heavily favored leading and anticipating the target's position so human error played a more significant role in shootouts. Human error kept all the modules effectiveness in check.

Stealth rlly isnt a problem if u just kill ppl at close range or mid range all the time its easy to see cloacked ppl after uve played the game alot so nanovision was useless to begin with useful in the campaign but mp se 3 with Enegery transfer with Me 3 isnt a problem at all learn to see ppl at close range kills more then long range. Regardless if some one is cloacked if ur standing infront of them u can clearly see him.

Besides nano recharge 3 with sE 3 is by far more better u could stay cloacked and run endlessly with ur energy recharging so fast it makes energy trasfer a useless perk

If u hve such a prob with stealth then use ctracker or tag ppl its tht simple nuff said

Don't get me wrong here Light(not trying to single you out) but , players can adapt to the current imbalance of stealth. You have of course, but does this balance the rest of the modules at disposal of the player? Can a player just use armor and put up the same scores as a player who only exclusively uses stealth? IMHO, modules are balanced when a player can use each one effectively and put up the same scores with all different sorts of module selections. Using just armor and going 25 - 2 should be just a common as using all cloak and going 25 - 2. Aim is what should determine module efficiency. If everyone can put a stream of bullets to the target's chest instantly, of course cloak is going to be favored dramatically.

I agree with the things you suggest, ie an increase in player health/increased TTK, and a reduction in aim assist would all be positive changes.

Not sure whether you've considered this, but another issue that goes hand in hand with the strength of cloak is the strength of melee in C2. There was a thread posted in the PS3 section in which people posted their MP weapon breakdown stats. Many people reported that melee was their most used "weapon" as far as total kills with melee accounting for almost 40% of their total kills (these were people who weren' even very enthusiastic meleers) I would be confident in guessing their would be many "top" console C2 players with melee accounting for over 50% of their kills. these types of players would not be terribly affected by a reduction in aim assist, they do precious little aiming as it is.

To me that's ridiculously high for an FPS game, and a clear indication that balancing is required. Melee recovery is too fast, but it would be useless if it wasn't so easy to get within melee range with cloak. I would hate for weapon damage receive a nerf (increase TTK) while melee retains the same level of lethality.

If NV is to be buffed, I hope they will clear it up on all versions (it was very fuzzy and annoying to use on consoles) Also I'd like to be able to counter cloak without playing one of the best looking games in black and white, so would also appreciate a buff to cloak tracker, it was near the top of the 'most useless perks' list

Plz crytek make stealth less effective in C3 MP.Yeah lots of noobs won't like it.But if crytek wants C3 to be comperative, stealth has to be less effective or buff nano vision so it see stealth at medium distance.

I think nano vision was perfect in C2 mp DEMO.Then they nerfed nano vision and made stealth OP.

*checks leader boards from cry2* LOL i think i killed you while in stealth u svcked Running in circles XD

Increase delay between melee punches, and increase speed when switching weapons.

Nothing needs to be changed about stealth from Crysis 2 to Crysis 3. If I wanted to play a game where stealth wasn't effective, I would play CoD. Either learn to adapt to the fast gameplay that is so characteristic of Crysis, or get killed by the players who do. That being said, anyone who doesn't use stealth enhance is not a noob, they are smart and learn how to manage their energy as they flow around the map. So the real noobs of Crysis can continue to complain about stealth, it won't get you anywhere because stealth is one of the biggest aspects of the game. Have a nice day being killed by me :)

This is going probably to be solved with the strength and speedmode separation.

Melee will only be really strong in strength mode.

No,i am noob. Need stealth to hide my a@@
WTF? I don't fu.cking understand people who have problems with stealth.
It's very easy to see cloak o.0
The only noobs here are players who don't see cloak without nanovision.

I take it that you probably haven't even playesd BF 3 but are merely throwing around popular FPSs. Because BF 3 is actually quite good and Crysis 2 was crap in comparison.

Melee will only be really strong in strength mode.

Judging from this post by Cry-Adam, (and from the HUD from the trailer) I'm guessing there is no separation of speed and strength for C3, which is a shame. I was excited by that news, excitement that was quickly extinguished by the trailer

Radial suit menu = no suit multi-tasking

If you can explain to me how you can sprint, strength jump and cloak all at the same time with a radial menu then i'm all ears :)

Gotta smile at some of these recent posts, some guys are terrified of losing their 24/7 cloak

the stealth mode its suppose to be stealth you stupid noob!!!!!!!

i can spot them, but sometimes i dont, but that it is what is supposed to happen right ? other way wouldn't be that stealth thats the fun in it.

do you want to take away the stealth mode in the campaign too ?? so you can play in easy mode to the last level ?
do you want to remake the game and give the suit another perk ? what about wallhack for the new perk ?? its good enough for you ?
