Make up?

Post » Wed Aug 24, 2011 1:08 am

Never?
So it would be a good thing to add guns then? Or to add final fantasy armor? Or the possibility to have hair gel and piercing and anti-wrinkle creams for old characters?
More options is never a bad thing, right?

...

Well, the guns and armor actually affect gameplay. I meant more options in the cosmetic sense.

And hell, if somebody wants their character to have piercings or use a magic ointment (from Alchemy, most likely) to remove wrinkles, more power to them. I could see orcs having piercings. And high elves using said ointment.

Okay, well but final fantasy armor doesn't really affect gameplay. It could have the same stats as any other armor, just look like it's 100% final fantasy super anime design. More options, doesn't affect gameplay... that's good right?

Epic
I'm so glad Todd is making this game, and not ... eh... some people in this thread :whistling:

No. Make-up is dumb and people always look better without it. If you're really ugly then the amount of make-up you'll need to cover that up will just make you look silly instead.

If they do include make-up, which, again, I hope they do not, then men should be able to have it too.

However, physical appearance and attractiveness doesn't always seem to be as important in Tamriel as it is in the real world. I don't think it would be necessary, even less so in Skyrim, land of the Nords, where beauty is probably seen more in strength and power.

Tell that to a nord woman...

She would prob give you a smack on the nose :shifty:

If there's going to be a barber, there should be a salon were we can get manicures and pedicures and get nail polish I different colors, and maybe the fashionable hair stylist at the salon can give you more stylish hair styles then the stinky old Nord barber?

Well, I personally wouldn't be using it, and very few NPCs that were armor don't were a specific uniform (guard armor), so it won't effect me.

If some other player wanted that armor, and it was in the game, good for them. There are mods for it in Oblivion, so obviously SOME people want it. Not me, obviously not you, but some people do. We aren't forced to use it, so big deal.

The female Redguard in one of the new screens is wearing lipstick. Todd also mentioned mascara in an interview. I'll more than likely never use those options, but i'm all for more customization.

Voted "yes" to both, although I don't like the implication that a man wearing makeup is automatically a "drag queen". I'm thinking we could instead consider face paint to be makeup for a male. something to that effect, anyway.

I'd rather they invest the "beauty" stuff in expensive (extravagant exquisite) clothing for the nobles, or jewels and hats etc in place of manicure or pedicure.

If I ever make a female character, I'd prefer not to have an ugly wretch. So ya, I'd like makeup, but I'm probably not gonna play as a chick 'till the 2nd playthrough.

Yes and yes. Because why not? Black eyeliner really brings out the colours in a sorceress' heterochromia iridum.

It's an RPG. If my troll-hunting Nord wants to wear lipstick, then by Ysmir he should! :swear:

Yes, make-up for the men. No necessarily drag queen, but face paint, etc.

And for ladies, most definately. And yes make-up has been available for quite some time in this era.

YES! I WANT TO BE ABLE TO MAKE MAI WAIFU WITHOUT USING MODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 :3

Spoiler
But in all seriousness... I'd like some make up. Not necessarily for the reason I stated above though. The more chargen options the better, as long as it doesn't look too out of place.

Yes, makeup and cosmetics and perfume are in TES lore, so it should be in the game. If you're a warrior who doesn't wear makeup, then don't wear it. If you're a person that does wear makeup, then wear it. See how easy I just made that?

Hehe, I think...this topic is being taken way too seriously. I am a guy who plays a male character. Some girls will also play a male character. However, there are girls and guys out there who will play a female character, and will want to put makeup on their character. So, what does it matter to the male characters if the female characters have the option to put makeup on? It's not going to effect your male character in any way, so why not give options for all types of people to customize their character to their preference. No need for us to be selfish about it.

I'm sure you'll be able to make your character look like an 80s pop star if you wish.
