My main will have two functions, which I'll alternate between based on my teammates' playstyles, and the situation at the time. One will be the same as Wraith - Light Operative, Semi-Auto Long Rifle with Machine Pistol as secondary (both silenced) - my objective here will be disruption of enemies and fire support at range - I'll be picking off stragglers, or weakened/important targets during major firefights.

The other option will be to switch to Medic (I'll have several abilities for BOTH classes), where my Light frame will allow me to reach trapped/wounded teammates and revive/heal/buff them before vanishing, with more emphasis on evading enemy fire than engaging. For this reason, the Long Rifle will be swapped out for a silenced SMG with either ammo capacity or reload speed upgraded as much as possible, to give me more freedom to operate without resupply, just rushing between hot zones and patching people up.

Opposite: Heavy Engineer. Automatic Grenade Launcher + fast-equip AR, with Turret and Mines. Both weapons will have increased clip sizes, to allow sustained fire. This combination should be capable of holding off a frontal assault on my position, with Mines and Grenades stalling the enemy, while the Turret clears out anything that's left. Being supported by allies means that I also support them - weapon buffs will give the enemy plenty to be scared of when we open fire. Additionally, if I have support, I'll only switch to AR to help finish the last survivors, but when I'm on my own, I'll fire a spread of grenades to stall/knockdown, then switch to my AR for a few bursts at grounded targets.

EDIT: Forgot to mention - I plan on actually BUILDING the "anti-me" character I described above - I like learning a variety of playstyles, to better know how to counter them. If it can be done in Brink, you can bet I'll be trying it out at some point...

Main: Light operative, silenced semi auto long rifle and machine pistol. Provides ranged support when not flanking, opening side routes, stealing enemy CP's, and disrupting the enemy teams movements,

Opposite: Heavy medic. Minigun and assault rifle. Stays with main team providing buffs and revives, always in the heat of action.

Either I have misunderstood this thread, or I'm your exact opposite.

Main: I'm eager to play the heavy gatling medic, buffing a heavy gatling soldier that supplies us both with ammo for our ever shooting, ever hungry gatlings.

Opposite: What I won't play except maybe for a short test is a light operative that hops around an tortuous back path, spending three waves' time to kill one or two guys and then die.

Main: Medium or Light Engineer / Medic. Always on the move, always buffing other players. Nice guy, will help out a teammate in need. Frequently making hilariously foolish charges into enemies because it's a video game and it's no biggie if I die a glorious death every now and then. Favoring weapons with powerful single shots over rapid-fire guns. Sitting in my chair like L from Death Note as usual, because it's impossible for me to sit at my computer like a normal and sane person.

Anti-me: Heavy Soldier. Huge jerk. Always going for kills. Never gives out ammo. Loves any kind of automatic gun. Teabags players after kills. Sits at his computer normally.

Main: Heavy medic. Minigun/Grenade Launcher and assault rifle. Stays with main team providing buffs, suppressing fire to help clear entrenched enemies, and revives, always in the heat of action. I have always been of a support role play style that keeps me with my team and helping to push towards objectives. Keeping folks with better aim or faster twitch reflexes alive is what I am good at, I can kill if need be but I will stick primarily with supporting those that are better suited for it.

Opposite: Light operative, silenced SMG if available and pistol. Work my way around the map to flank the enemy and take out secondary objectives to further the goals of my team.

:D

It's the result of my experiences with noob TF2 spies. But I've known very useful ones too. :)

Spy was the noob magnet in tf2. I hope it's not so in brink.

SICK. :ninja:

Thank YOU, good sirrah. 'Twas my intent.

I find it highly interesting that my goal was to make a lot of the Light Operative newbies consider other classes and options, and you actually already had the opposite going on. You also made your anti-you a challenge to play for yourself, which I have to give you massive respect for. :ninja:

Not all operatives are noobs i know that a few of use operatives will be playing the objective and supporting our team but other than that nice post! :turtle:

Wraith's backwards with a twist of classes.
No cherry on top.

Of course light operatives are the lone wolf, unless he has a pack.
[/quote]

a pack of all lights completing objectives together would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they would need an kewl name but that could be really fun to play :D

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster, I just wanted to finally create an account after spending the last few weeks of my life here so here we go....

Main: Security Heavy Medic, E-Z Grenade Launcher and an AR (not sure which)
Always in the thick of battle, constantly at the main objective, healing, reviving, and buffing teammates. Always with my friend (Heavy Solider) and together we will become a mobile base tons of ammo and health for everyone on our team.

Anti: Light..............................Check
Operative........................Check
Light Rifle......................Check

......so yeah, pretty much Wraith.

and yes I'm planing on playing as a less impressive but still ninja like operative for at least the Resistance campaign.
