Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 5:44 pm

So im just sitting here bored on the forums and decided to just make this little post, to see what challenges you would make up or like to see in brink, they can be easy, funny, hard, or whatever you want, I would make one that you have to get 5 headshots in a row then teabag someone. tell me what yours would be..

Maybe some class specific challenges to help people new to a class become more accustomed to the roles of their class in a constructive way focused specifically to test you at different difficulties.

Could also allow people to test or practice with a class before dedicating to it.

I plan to do a pistol/knife only challenge for myself being a light running around with a pistol and knife that's a really hard challenge
and this way it makes me think a little more tactically :ninja:

Ok how about...

"Spot The Spy"
More luck then skill
You start the challenge and you see 10 identical team mates walking around doing there thing but... one of them is really a enemy operative... you have 1:00 to kill the spy, if you kill a team mate then you fail the challenge.

"Hide N Seek"
Practice finding those that like to hide
You start the challenge with a 3:00 timer, only you and one enemy hiding somewhere... to pass the challenge you have to find and kill the enemy within the set time.

"Frag Fest"
Pratice taking out enemies
In this challenge you are given 3:00 timer, and you must kill 20 enemies before the timer runs out. Harder levels mean higher kill total with less time

"Survial Mode"
Practice staying alive
You start the challenge with 5:00 and enemies will start to spawn coming after you, the longer you live the quicker the game spawns more.

The All Seeing Spy
Sets you, alone, as an Operative defending some objective from 4 weak enemy bots for 3 minutes.
Points are rewarded for every bot killed, and for every minute defended.
Points are deducted everytime an enemy notices you and you don't silence him within 15 seconds.

The idea here is to train people to work covertly, but to integrate that "Lone Wolf Spy" idea into objective-ness, something most lone wolf spys don't do.

I'm hoping that Brink allows you to shoot mid-air, especially after lunging yourself off the side of a wall. I know one of my own little goals is to strafe around a player, as he is shooting at me, and then fling myself off an adjacent wall and then take him down in the few seconds that I'm airborne - preferably with pistol or a knife to the face. I doubt they'll allow that though, but one can always dream, ne? :P

They call me Prophet- Achieve 50 slide kills
Test of Faith- Reach level 20 without firing a single shot
Soap? What kind of a name is Soap?- Reach level 20 without completing a single objective
Legendary Survivor- Reach level 20 without dying

First 3 should be fairly obvious references. A cookie for whoever gets the 4th.

Your sittin on a high spot lookin out over a map with a scoped barrett. you have to kill as manny sprinting lights as you can within the time limit. the higher the level, the more you have to kill in a smaller amount of time, and the more cover there is for them & the more smart moves they use to throw you off.

Also there is a heavy that pops up in a dog suit and chuckles. (anyone who gets the reference gets a :turtle: , their tough to come by these days so think hard.)

No, it's from a game.
As for a challenge mission.....
You are a light operative with only a knife. You must chase down and kill the Pope in Rome in 3/2/1 minute(s) or else you fail the challenge.

'Heavy is credit to team'
As a heavy operative you must successfully go from your base to the enemy's base and hack their command post without being spotted.

Stairs Down.

You play as a light operative and try to get down large tiers as fast as possible. If you over shoot you fall two tiers and die from fall damage. (Or else health is factored into the scores, less health=less score) The tiers get bigger the farther down you go.

Follow the leader
Do every move exactly as the person in front of you who has the same body type. It's a good way to learn how to parkour and learn some cool routes

Headshot honcho
Given only a barret, use only headshots to hurt/kill the enemy through a whole level. Minimum of 6 headshot kills.

"Drug Lord":
heal/revive and give a health buff to every player on your team without being incapped as a medic

"Are you sure it's ours?":
As an engineer, repair or buff an enemy turret that an operative on your team has hacked

"Cocktail Party":
hit four or more enemies with a single Molotov Cocktail

"BONK!":
incapacitate a heavy body type with a melee attack while playing as a light body type

"Identity Crisis":
As an operative, disguise as four different enemy players without being incapped

NOTE: these are more like personal challenges that I'll do for my own benefit. I'll come up with challenge mission later

Most of these "challenges" sound like achievements/trophies...

Skynet challenge

You play an operative and must hack several placed turrets around the map, you have a time limit depending on the difficulty level, on easy it is 10 minutes, on medium it is 7:30 minutes and on hard it is 5 minutes. Also, the difficulty changes the number of Engineers and Operatives on the opposite team, there are always 5 engineers and the difficulty adds +1 operative who will spot you, and give away your position to the turrets.

Anti-Gravity impaired

You play a light of any class, you cannot jump or preform parkour, you must run through a time trial map, however there is heavies with GL running around, which will knock you down and make you lose time having to get up. You cannot die, and the heavies have a slow reload time. On easy, there is a single heavy, on medium there are two, on hard there are three without a reload penalty. The time to get to the end is the same on all time difficulties.

FRAG OUT!

A practice mode challenge, you get infinite grenades, no cooldown, and you must hit enemies as they run by. You get 5 minutes to set a highscore, lights are 5 points, mediums are 20 points, and heavies are 50 points, but the points are only rewarded for KILLING them knocking them down will score few points but will give you the chance to kill the downed enemy.

Lazarus out!

A kind of versus challenge, its two players, one plays a medic and must prevent kills, and the other will play a soldier with a GL and grenades, (both players get unlimited grenades and no cooldown.). The players will switch sides after the 5 minutes time limit, the player with the higher amount of points (from kills, rez give you no points) wins the match. Both players are competing to get a high score for each difficulty.

Oh and btw Deathshroud made a Duck Hunt reference. :P

EDIT: ...ninja'd, or is it Wraith'd around here?

Sorry Blaven, and I don't know probably Wraith'd :ninja:

as for challenges...

Demoman

You're a medium solider that can only use satchel charges and you have to defend the objective from hordes of enemies. The points are determined by kills and the time limit decreases as the level increases.

FPT (first person turret)

You are an operative in first person turret mode looking over a battle field, enemies will charge at you and you get points based on the weight class of those you kill. As the levels go up it decreases the level of you turret so on level one you get a gatling turret and on level three you get a level 1 one.
