Makeing the best charachter for the Divide DLC.

Post » Wed Jun 02, 2010 3:42 am

The way I see it, If the rumors are true and there's some big showdown with Ulysses at the Divde in the end, He'll be really tough and hard to kill. (If they're smart)

Ulysses should of been in the game but no Obsidian had to take him out just so they could put him in a $10 DLC. :banghead: I hope we don't have to kill him, he would be a great companion. Should of been a companion OBSIDIAN! [censored].

I will kill him on some play through, but I don't like most of the companions in New Vegas. Veronica, Lily, and Cass are the only ones I really like. Oh and Rex, how could I forget about that cute little Robo Dog! But more on topic then my last post your build looks good! I think I am going to steal it.

I won't kill unless I don't like him, or I'm forced too. The latter would be unfortunate. If I can actually have him as a companion and it is the last DLC I won't care though, which is a shame. I have almost everything I want to with my current character done, just waiting...

Obsidian didn't want to pull him out of the game! there wasn't enough time to finish him and he was to complicated as his character intertwined with all the quests in the game including the main quest,im grateful obsidian brought him back..

Feel free, its kind of complicated. It requires quite a few exploits and the dead money DLC

Odd choice of weapons if you want to put him down quick.

I don't want to kill Ulysses. He sounds like a nice guy. I just want to kill some Power Armored enemies. None of the enemies in New Vegas were very challenging after level 12 or so as long as you took the right perks and played careful.

Dead Money is no problem but the exploits may be. Which ones are they?

I'd count on it.
I'm not holding my breath for the actual battle because no one-on-one combat in this game can be intense. Hard? Possible. Frustratingly long? Broken Steel did it already. But not epic or anything. The A.I. is too simple to use any slightly clever tactic. The best it does is stand and shoot while you do the same.

They could script their way through the entire battle though but like I said, I'm not holding my breath.

I think Ulysses will be a true American Patriot.

I don't like the idea of the sole purpose for a DLC to be a boss battle. I'd rather have a change of settings with one major story and a vast amount of side-quests. If Ulysses is apart of the big story fine, but I think it would be too simple and regressive to the progress Bethesda has made to just have a DLC where it's your sole purpose to kill a boss.
Back to the stats: I know we all want the 100's on skills and 10's on S.P.E.C.I.A.L, but I like the idea of coming into DLC with a different skill set and finding different ways to accomplish the same goal. That's why Bethesda made it so that you can't attain all perks, I presume.

Well, my only concern is how Ulysses looks, if they don't make him have dreads like he does on his card, I'm going to be miffed.

I did something pretty similar. Takes forever and the ultra slow reloading at first is mind crushing..

LVL: 35 / HP: 470 / AP: 95

S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

Strength: 9 (10 usually in Remnant PA)
Perception: 8 (9 with FR beret)
Endurance: 10
Charisma: 8 (9 with PA helmet)
Intelligence:10
Agility: 10 (Actually this stat is at about 30 with regards to holstering and reload speeds...)
Luck:10

Skills

Barter: 100
Energy weapons: 100
Explosives: 70 (75 with BM helmet for missile launcher etc)
Guns: 100
Lockpick: 100
Medicine: 70
Melee: 100
Repair: 100
Science: 100
Sneak: 90 (100 with Assassin Suit)
Speech 100
Survival: 66
Unarmed: 100

Perks

Abominable (3)
Adamantium Skeleton
Agility Implant
Animal Control (3)
Beautiful Beatdown
Better Criticals
Bug Stomper (3)
Camel of the Mojave
Charisma Implant
Coin Operator
Commando
Comprehension
Day Tripper
Educated
Elijah's Ramblings
Endurance Implant
Fast Times
Finesse
Free Radical
Ghost Hunter
Gunslinger
Heavyweight
In Shining Armor
Intelligence Implant
Intense Training (10)
Jury Rigging
Khan Trick
Laser Commando
Legion Assault
Light Step
Light Touch
Long Haul
Lord Death (3)
Luck Impant
Machine Head (2)
Melee Hacker (2)
Miss Fortune
Mutant Massacrer (3)
Mysterious Stranger
Ninja
Perception Implant
Piercing Strike
Power Armor Training
Ranger Takedown
Scribe Counter
Set Lasers for Fun (2)
Sierra Madre Martini
Slayer
Sniper
Strength Implant
Strong Back
Sub-Dermal Armor
Tag!
Tough Guy
Toughness (2)
Trigger Discipline
Wild Wasteland

Apparel

First Recon Beret
Remnant Power Armor
Tortoiseshell Glasses

Weapons

12.7mm Pistol (Silenced)
PewPew
Sniper Rifle (Supressor, Carbon Fiber Part)
Ballistic Fist

Given that I also have every single piece of armor and weaponry in the game (except the unique Gauss) and over 500k caps, 37 gold bars, thousands of different types of gambling chips, tens of thousands of pre-war money etc etc. I can change up my character pretty good. I have him walking around in an exposed prosttute outfit with an unmodified 9mm pistol recently, just because I got BORED WAITING FOR THE NEXT DLC.....

Couple the uber character with Boone using an AMR and SS and a dual upgraded EDE and well... Everything dies

Actually I sometimes had to switch EDE to melee because he was too good at killing stuff. Made it hard to actually get the challenge perks.. Dual upgraded EDE = FLYING BALL OF DEATH.
