Making Houses

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 5:40 am

People of Bethesda Forums, allow me to introduce myself.
I am none other than Dvah, gamer by day and modder whenever necessary.
Greatly inspired by Morrowind newbies, I've chosen to offer my services not to projects, but to the general populace.
As such, house requests are welcome.

Be sure to include the following, should my offer interest you.

-Brief character description
-Desired location

;)

Yours truly,

-Dvah: recovering APB addict.

I think one of the problems is that most of us regulars here already have favorite house mods, or have made one or even altered one to suit our own personal tastes. Never know though, perhaps someone lurking here needs a house made and just hasn't seen this thread yet. I can tell you that the offer is quite generous, and I am at least grateful for the thought. :foodndrink:

Thank you for offering your services to the public, im very grateful.

Id like to make a request, as i haven't yet found a house mod like this and i lack the modding skills to make it. Its for a bosmer assassin/thief. He's a stereotypical thief/assassin, sticks to the shadows, meddles with alchemy, uses lockpicks and daggers etc.

So what im looking for is a basic thieves hideout in balmora that fits in with the hlaalu theme there. Maybe somewhere on the outskirts. the house would be like any hlaalu home but there can be a trapdoor leading to a larger underground area. If you can script well id appreciate some re-locking chests (and if im not asking too much an alchemy sorter and book sorter too)

Thank you for your time and i totally understand if you cant include some of the things ive requested. :foodndrink:

It would help to see some of your past work, so people can get an idea of your creativity and skill level. (for all we know, you've only been modding for a few days :P )

Most of us here are pretty experienced, so we have a few personal house mods in our game already. Not that there isn't room for one more!
When you do get a house done, I hope you release it for everyone. I'm sure more than one person will enjoy it. :)

EDIT: I didn't see that Woolers requested. There you go!

Very nice of you, and welcome to our forums. I'd like to suggest the same as Pluto, if you have some shots of your work, as part of your introduction. :) I'm interested in seeing some from newcomer fellow modder.

Oh, and try to avoid using the word newbie, some people are allergic to it :P

P.S. not sure if you already got one, but http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/qq328/PaulSouthron/Fishy%20Sticks/fishystickcf7.jpg :hehe:

For some reason i'm reminded of a mod for balmora, where there's underground tunnels going to all major buildings (thieves guild, fighters guild, mages guild, Ect). Maybe in the tunnels under the city, you could add a small room/hideout there.

I've always been happy with taking Rallen Hlaalu's place. Main reason? Dead bodies that don't ever go away make excellent permanent unlimited item storage's. As for the re-locking chests, you could make a cheap common ring that does locking so you can constantly practice. Get the 'lock' spell (Fenrick's doorjam, in caldera), and then enchant any regular cheap ring with lock 1-4 on touch. Preferably with something that has 50+ soul (like bull netch). Using that I've gotten about 70+ unlocks on chests/bags before it ran dry and needed time to recharge, and on average i seem to go up 6-10 points. course i also tended to have about 20 or less on those skills.

Although scripting something to relock every few seconds might work too...
