Making Roads

Post » Tue Nov 17, 2015 7:13 pm

Hey guys,

I have done the basics such as making interior rooms, making NPCs, making NPC dialogue, making quests, etc.

I started building a world and I use a terrain brush for roads. Then I remembered - many of the towns in Skyrim have better looking roads which NPCs walk down.

How do I make roads which NPCs walk down? It's not a terrain brush tool.

Roads are 3d static meshes that are hand placed. Simply search "road" under "static" in the object window. The Creation Kit does not have any kind of road stencil system. To get AI to path on your roads, you have to mark the navmesh that goes over them as preferred by selecting a tri and hitting "P".

I agree with the guys who replied, especially where you have to set navmesh as "preferred path".
