I installed your mod for the first time Nich and I have to say it makes a real difference to the immersion, it really does not stand out, which I want to point out is a good thing! Unfortunately now what does stand out is everything else in the game, right now I am walking around and noticing every seam and every stretched texture on all the unmodified models, from buildings to the ugly rocks on those short stone walls. But every time I see one of your modified rocks I stop and walk around it five or six times having a good look. :D

Between this Plangkye's Telvanni, you thinking of fixing trees and Connarys Texture Compendium in the future I am quite excited about Morrowind again these days. :)

hmmmm, never thought of it that way . now that you say it not standing out is exactly what i should be aiming for . i do find myself not playing at times and just looking around and enjoying the new meshes .

i am looking forward to Plagkye's telvanni textures . my trial attempt was to just see what could be done . but i don't realy spend much time around the telvanni towers . i hate the insides since the PC is so tall and make moving thru them difficult . also don't like that when the PC walks inside the screen bumps up and down on the inside root ribs . think a better collision node needs to be in there . think i just got a little off topic there .

also read where Linora is working on a similar project for the imperial UVs . with more people now noticing the differences with better UV maps i am hoping more mods will take up the cause and fix everything in morrowind .

Lookin' good Nich!

Are you also planning to do rocks for Tribunal & Bloodmoon?

thx . as for tribunal and bloodmoon , i am not sure when i will get to those rocks . have not looked to see how many rocks are in those regions . i think i would like to work on the morrowind trees first unless these regions don't have so many meshes .

Such a small thing, but such a HUGE improvement. Thank you for this.

glad you like it . it is not as small a thing as you might think and i thought when i started this mod . there are 366 rock meshes (not including lava vents , lava pits and misc boulders) with over 44,000 ingame placements . release 05 includes 279 meshes with about 32,000 ingame placements . puts the project at about 75% done .

Thx for continuing with putting so much effort into this! It?s highly appreciated, will dl the new version now ;)

thx , glad everyone is liking it so far .

if anyone does see something that is not exacly right please let me know . editing , scaling and looking at these ingame makes me go a little blind at times .

release 06 is on the OP and in this post

this release is now 84% complete by mesh count and 92% complete by ingame placements . estimated of course .

the last time i was playing i went to tel fry and noticed a rock that i had not seen before while editing all these meshes . and it was everywhere . i mean everywhere !! so i loaded up the CS and found ex_t_menhir_L with 9830 meshes placed ingame . i didn't even have this mesh in the list todo . since it is everywhere i had to make sure it got included in this release .

RELEASE 06: http://www.filefactory.com/file/af60bah/n/correctUVrocks_06_rar click the "download for free" link in the middle of the page
all files from release 05
corrected UV mapping for ex_T_menhir_L_01 (9830 ingame placements !!)
corrected UV mapping for ex_T_menhir_01
corrected UV mapping for terrain_rock_MA 01,02,04,05, and more odd numbers (24 meshes)

Thanks Nich, I am looking forward to the finished version, once completed this really is going to be a standard essential Morrowind mod. :)

Honestly, I would say it already is with the amount of work put in at this point. Even if Nich were to just up and stop now, I would still always use this in every game of mine from now on. Fantastic work!

Definitely. Hell, I'm going to campaigning on behalf of this mod.

This mod fixes most of the seams found in nearly every rock in morrowind. It is incredible how much better the rocks look now.

OP stands for Opening Post or Opening Poster. That means you need to go to the first page of this thread.

Nich, awesome work! Especially when looking at comparison shots does it become clear how needed this is! :D

Have you considered making billboard Grazelands trees, like your West Gash ones? If you have, could you rotate them like Vality did with his Bitter Coast ones? His Ascadian and your West Gash ones look a bit odd in MGE distant land, but ever so awesome when normal!

you can't jinx me or stop me now . the only thing left is RM region , inside mines (done just not uploaded yet) and a few odd rocks that only show ingame like 2 or 3 times each .

since i use Diverse Ores Veins by CJW-Craigor i corrected those meshes aswell . i currently have an email sent to him about how best to upgrade his mod . if i don't hear back from him in a few days i will use his release as a resource following his readme permissions .

Diverse Ores includes
http://www.imagebam.com/image/32293e30294802
http://www.imagebam.com/image/a4843130294804
mold rocks with diamonds
mud rocks with diamonds
py rocks with diamonds
bone rocks with ebony
lava rocks with ebony

py rocks with ebony
bone rocks with glass

mud rocks with glass

i think from the CS pictures that you can imagine what the ones without pictures will look like .

as for the billboard trees . i work on them now and then and will put more work into it once this mod is completed and i start to correct the UVs on the trees . i have new and better textures created by me . i understand how to rotate the leaves to look much better with MGE . just cannot make the trees look real . i have the problem of putting leaf meshes in an organized way . everytime i do it the trees look to symetrical and just not right . but that project is not dead . just moving very slowly .

as for now i am off to hunt in morrowind and enjoy the new MA region .

laters
