Makingbreaking Ammo

Hey guys.

Not sure if there is some command I am unaware of or if there is just no way to do this.
When using a loading bench is there anyway to break/make ammo faster than in increments of 100, it is omg tedious and thus I never take handloader as a result.

I am on the pc if that matters.
I sure hope that I am just having a dur moment and am missing something.

You're missing out on the hand loader perk then. It provides some great ammo to use for guns. The hand load ammo packs a bigger punch then your standard ammo. And its hard to find a ton of armor piercing rounds in the game. I never found it tideous when breaking down ammo, you just collect from corpses on your journies through the mojave. then when you go to trade, after that is done, find your nearest ammo bench and break down everything you have, and convert based on the guns you are carrying. With practice it becomes quite simple to use. It took me quite a while to fully understand how it works though to be honest. But i'm glad I did, and hand loader is such a great perk to use at level 6. Gun Runners Arsenal DLC adds some more ammo types to this too. Really worth while perk.

I understand the ammo is better, but when you have 1000 bullets to change over at 100 a time or, heaven forbid, more than that ... no thanks.

So I am assuming there is no way to do more than 100, is that sort of thing modable? If not mebbe ill take the perk and throw my ammo on the ground and add in the hand loaded ammo amount via console.

I just dont find it fun to, activate bench select breakdown 100 .44ammo then select bench make handload 100 .44ammo 10 times or more. Even if the darn bench screen wouldnt close after every bloody step it would be tolerable.

Meh, i svck at shooting and dont care for vats so I tend to use guns that shoot alot of ammo and spray and pray. Like the the dog brain guns, automatic rifle, light machine gun, minigun ect.
Backpedaling from a deathclaw and just unloading loads of ammo to kill it for example. :whistling:

Say you got 1000 5mm surplus ammo and want to change it to ap version.

Just use console command: "player.additem 0013e43f 1000" and do whatever you want with the surplus ammo. You won't really get equal ammount of ap ammo from surplus but you can keep it as justified encashment for the game not allowing faster breakdown and assembling.

Except you can't break down surplus and you can't make AP. But, as you say, the easy way is to just do it by console if you're on PC. I looked in the game settings and couldn't find anything there that might allow you to change how much the "max crafting at once" number is. I also would have loved to change this, but I can't the setting, if there even is one.

I made it possible to craft HP and AP, but still need to add the ability to break down Surplus. I haven't been able to find a 'max items crafted' type of setting either, need to look again as it gets annoying converting 3500 5mms to AP 100 at a time since you have to break them down and then reconstitute them. :banghead:

I just dont understand why there would be a set limit like that, wouldnt it be easier to just do a program using a max carried variable. I really cant think of a reason to carry normal ammo and hand load, ap and hp sure but not the other.
