Male Adornments in Character Creation

Post » Tue Feb 18, 2014 10:39 pm

So I was watching a video of the character creation in TESO and I have only one problem with it - the male adornments. I think it would be best to separate the "accessories" from the facial hair so you can have say an eye patch with any beard. Just put your opinion in the poll and/or share your thoughts as well.

Yes,now you mention it one thing that slightly annoyed me was that a circlet was attached to a beared I liked ..although for the rest character creation is pretty awesome

This is one of the many aspects of the character creation that I found subpar. I must say that, for all the hype about it, I was expecting more.

I don't play male characters, but I'm all for more options. I sent plenty of feedback criticizing the character creation last beta, and this was one of my suggestions. That, and not being able to make a black-haired Altmer.

@Tipsytoo, I know right? The character creation is amazing but it's the adornments for the males that just needs to be separate when it comes to the accessories and the facial hair.

@Abeille, I'm all for suggestions and options even though I may not use them but other people might. But I guess you could say I'm one for adding black hair to Altmers. I may never use it but that doesn't mean others won't. I'm sure lots of people will use it. But once I find out where I can post at a section only dedicated to the TESO beta, I would be more than happy to suggest the separation of male adornments and black hair for Altmers.

I don't like the fact that my Khajiit cannot have a mighty nose ring combined with some mighty whiskers.

It does seem odd that there are sliders for all sorts of separate features, but not one for accessories.

I will remember to send feedback about that in the next beta session, I am all for more options and customisation, certainly a separate slider for accessories would be a bonus to that.

Yes. The character creation does an excellent job with the triangle for various body shapes, but I definitely felt the facial features were lacking compared to, say, Skyrim. Beards aside, it felt like you were stuck with one overall face that you could slightly shape differently.

Even the hairstyles felt a little limited.

Man, already 25 in favor? You guys are awesome! But I do I feel like they do need to tweak and fix some things in the character creation. It's awesome as it is by why not make it better? Especially with the adornment bar where it's just the accessories and underneath or so is the facial hair bar.

They need to separate them.

Beards/facial hair should be their own things, piercings should be their own thing, face paints/tattoo's their own thing, and then finally "Accessories" (Like the eye patch, circlet)

It should not be one whole thing.

I'd forgotten about this, but yes, it did bother me. Women get tons of jewelry, men get...beards. Come on, no multi-hoop earrings for our Dunmer? More variety in piercings?

@Aeon Blue, not what I meant but if you're into that... sure, why not? But adding separate sliders for beards and accessories like the eye patch for males would be a great fix in character creation.

I don't think you get the reference but I'll help you because maybe you've not played Morrowind, All the dunmer had piercings of some kind in Morrowind it was a really nice addition for that race I'd play a Dark Elf with a warhawk and piercings in my ears and tattoos on my face, Good times.

@bandage106, I've only played Oblivion and Skyrim, sorry. Haven't ever gotten the chance to play Morrowind.

I only played around with this on an Argonian so I don't know if it applies to all races.

I was particularly disappointed that unlike eg. Skyrim, we couldn't change the colour of face or body paints. That might at least partly be because they've been lumped in with everything else.

That one hipster probably just played as the default character and didn't customize anyone, poor fool.

Anyways, can we try for 100? We're more than halfway there as of now. But thanks guys for the support and hopefully we'll see this change in the next beta update or after a few of them.
