Male Female Ratio of TES Players

Post » Sat Sep 14, 2013 4:22 pm

I play a male in every game because everything I do in my head I dies it as a male.

I find it hard to be anything but myself.

Not on my own, na. I have played at a friend or cousin's house, which is where I played Morrowind. I'll be switching soon for mods mainly. First pc game I'm getting when I do besides Skyrim is Masquerade. Dat Velvet Velour

I'm a guy. Not too old either, merely 20. And I just don't get the obsession with female gamers. I mean, why is that a big deal? As gaming becomes more mainstream, of course more women and girls are going to start with it.

Men V Men. No Elves. No magic. Its brutal, its fun and sometimes its a laugh. You will hate arches. I feel guilty for not playing it too much. Its challenging to play. Here is a http://www.chivalrythegame.com/blog/ for further info.

That game. A classic. Watch out for the woman with the two personalities. If you do get a pc and the game do not forget to download and install the unofficial patch.

Yeah exactly :) people should just treat other as people as well, not as some sort of alien nonhuman people. I think whiteknights are annoying as well. Gamers who happen to be girls are just gamers like us. nothing special,Just gamers like us s) but i guess you get what i mean. We are all human.

Hey, I'm on Bigpond 4G, which always kicks back to 3G up here in the North West, semi-rural here too & no landline. That will change for me in the near future, but for now... ahhhh.. :blush2:

Have'nt played Dead Island, but checking it out reminds me of FC3 except no character customising. U might liket it but no MMO yet anyway. Sounds like you'd luv the driving in that, can't beat KB/Mouse combo for controling vehicles eh? lol.. :woot:

Forgot to mention that I play both male and female characters in Skyrim.

Only a few people will answer your poll and the results won't certainly give an exact picture of the "gender ratio in TES games".

I think we all know the answer to why there's an obsession, but no one wants to say it for being mean, lol. But another way to put it is if you had a wife who actually wanted to watch ESPN with you. Although in my state, lots of women like football and know more about my own favorite team than I do sometimes, so that's not a big deal to me either.

I looked this up on youtube, and wow, it looks perty kewl.

I won't lie, you make pretty chicks.

It's great that there are more female players these days. Still, I doubt games like Skyrim are going to become more popular among females as long as they're mostly about action and combat. RPGs like Skyrim need more roleplaying options in them and features that interest females.

I only play as male characters, as i try to play them as extensions of myself in some way or other. I wouldn't have a problem playing as a female character, just haven't wanted too, to date.

"Features that interest females"? They already added an oven. :D (I jest of course, and I've probably used the Hearthfire ovens more than anyone here, so I'm poking fun directly at myself there.) Non-casual female gamers are still a minority (in this context, "casual" is a genre or game type division - think Pogo), and trying to appeal to people of any gender who are never going to be into this type of game would be a train wreck. Needs to be focused, if at all. I happen to think the gender balance is already pretty good, in that choosing male or female is equally viable. I have heard some people comment that they can't play a female warrior "because it doesn't feel right" but that's on them, nothing to do with the game.

It's fine to add features to appeal to one or the other, but I don't really want to feel catered to on anything more than a superficial level, especially since "what women want" is sooo often off target.

If catering to the perceived desires of females will result in The Elder SIMS, count me out.
